It is somberly informed that our beloved Rev. Amrik Singh Ji, IAS (Retd.), Roshan Minar, former President, Sant Nirankari Mandal and a true devoted saint of the Nirankari family has merged in Almighty Nirankar on January 16, 2024 at 09.00 A.M. at his residence in Nirankari Colony, Delhi. He is survived by his wife Smt. Gurmeet Kaur Ji, one son and two daughters.

The last rites are scheduled for Thursday, 18th of January, 2024. The procession will start at 1.00 P.M. from the Marriage Ground, Nirankari Colony, Delhi and shall culminate at 1.30 P.M. at the CNG Nigam Bodh Ghat, Delhi.

PRERNA DIWAS shall be held on Saturday, 20th of January, 2024 from 2.00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Shri Amrik Singh Ji was born on 16th October, 1932 at Lahore (Pakistan) in the family of Shri Pritam Singh (Father) and Smt. Darshan Kaur (Mother). Shri Pritam Singh had four sons and four daughters, Rev. Amrik Singh being the eldest.

Rev. Amrik Singh Ji did his matriculation from Government High School Baghbanpura, Lahore in March 1947. He took up further studies privately and after doing Honours in Punjabi, he completed his Bachelor of Arts in1952 and got employed in Punjab Secretariat. With the blessings of Baba Avtar Singh Ji, he appeared in the P.C.S. Competitive Examination in July, 1954 and got selected on merit in his first attempt. While in service, he continued his studies and passed LL.B in 1966 and later completed Post Graduation in Public Administration also. Again as a result of Satguru’s continued blessings, he got promotion to I.A.S. (1973 batch).

With the guidance and motivation of Rev D.S. Shauq of Shimla , Rev. Amrik Singh Ji met Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji, in Paharganj, Delhi and received Divine-Knowledge (Brahm Gyan) from him on 11th February, 1951. He found that the revelation of God to him by Shahenshah Ji was absolutely true according to what was enshrined in Adi Granth and other scriptures. So he was prompted to tell this Truth to everybody, his kith and kin, friends and other seekers of God-knowledge.

Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji was pleased to entrust the task of drafting Sant Nirankari Mandal’s Vidhan to Rev Amrik Singh during his posting as Magistrate 1st Class, Delhi in 1959-61. He completed this job diligently and successfully incorporating the important points in the text as desired by Shahenshah Ji.

In 1970, Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji was pleased to authorize Rev. Amrik Singh Ji to impart Brahm Gyan to the aspirants. He was nominated as Member Incharge of the Executive Committee on 18th March 1985. After retirement in October 1990, he devoted his services to the Mission on whole-time basis. He was nominated as President of the Sant Nirankari Mandal in March 2002 and served till April 2006. He also performed sewa as Secretary Parchar Vibhag and Administration of Branches, looking after the Education Department in 2007. In 2009, he was nominated as a member of the Central Planning & Advisory Board of the Mandal. Being a seasoned Administrator and missionary and ideal preacher saint of the Mission, he was honoured as a “Roshan Minar” in 2018.

Rev. Amrik Singh Ji has an intense love for literary pursuits. He made useful contribution to enrich the English literature of the Mission. He also translated ‘Sampuran Avtar Bani’ in English in prose. He had deep religious background and keen desire to meet the saints and become a Gursikh. He had love for Gurbani and respect for the elders and the saints. His life has been a living example of love and devotion for the True Master and service to the mankind. Leaving aside all other preoccupations, he has always preferred to serve the Mission and the Satguru.
