SNM Melbourne awarded at 'World Blood Donor Day 2009'

On 14 June 2009, Australia hosted World Blood Donor Day 2009 at Federation Square, Melbourne where
Sant Nirankari Mission, Melbourne was awarded with a trophy which was presented by
Hon Nicola Roxon MP - Minister for Health and Ageing, Australia
to recognise the ongoing contribution of mission's volunteers towards blood donation.

Hon Dr David Hamill - Chairman, ARCBS very much appreciated the kind efforts of SNM donors
and encouraged members to continue these voluntary blood drives.

Held on 14 June each year, World Blood Donor Day pays tribute to the millions of people
who selflessly donate the life-saving gift of blood and this year Australia was the international host.

VIPs from the four founding partners:
World Health Organization;
International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies;
International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations, and
International Society of Blood Transfusion;
as well as Australian donors and recipients attended this special day.

World Blood Donor day was designated as an annual event at the
United Nations World Health Assembly in 2005
and since then has been hosted by a number of countries.

It's an honour to be the focus of the world�s activities on this special day.
It's the kind teachings of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj
which guides all Nirankari volunteers towards selfless community service.
