Cleanliness Drive 2019
Betti Stradling Park, Coral Springs FL
When we keep our environment clean, we keep our minds and hearts clean!
On October 19, 2019, the Fort Lauderdale chapter of the Sant Nirankari Mission, organized Cleanliness Drive at the Betti Stradling Park in collaboration with the City of Coral Springs.
Betti Stradling Park is a 21-acre park with Playgrounds, Pavilions, Jogging and walking trails and sports areas. About 20 volunteers cleaned portions of the park and removed all the garbage from the grounds along with vegetative debris and dead palm fronds. The garbage was picked up from the Parking lot, walk ways, grass lawns and other areas. The Pavilions and bathrooms were also cleaned.
Mr. Victor Swaroop came in to represent the Gandhi Square Foundation. Since Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan in India is s dedication to Mahatma Gandhi, this cleanliness drive coincided with his 150th birthday this year. Mr. Swaroop appreciated the Sant Nirankari Mission’s efforts and thanked the volunteers for taking out their time to give back to the community. The Cleanliness drive ended with a vegetarian barbeque, games and music. Students were given volunteer hours and certificates were given to those who requested them.
The Sant Nirankari Mission organizes Cleanliness Drives as a global initiative to keep the environment clean and give back to the community. This Drive was conducted in chapters all across USA in the month of October as in initiative of “Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan” in India. Sant Nirankari Mission is a Brand Ambassador of this initiative since 2015 and has been cleaning Hospitals, Railway stations and many other public places for the past many years.
To mark the 65th birthday of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj this year, on February 23rd, 2019, 300,000 volunteers cleaned 765 Hospitals within a matter of 4 hours, all across India. All the branches in USA followed suit in the month of October by cleaning Public Parks.
We pray in the holy feet of Satguru Mata Sudiksha ji to bless us with opportunities to serve as per Her divine vision.
