Publication Booth & Blood Drive 11-12-2016

Sant Nirankari Mission, Fort Lauderdale, FL

TThe Fort Lauderdale chapter has been participating in the annual IRCC Diwali Celebrations for the past many years. This event is one of the largest events in the area catering predominantly to the South Asian community. An estimated 10,000 people attended the event during the course of the day between the hours of 12 noon to 10.00 pm. A non-stop cultural program was showcased on stage in which about 800 children participated. People from the American community also came in to attend showing a keen interest in the Indian culture.

PUBLICATION BOOTH: A publication booth is set up annually at this event, which took place at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Volunteers gave away Mission’s free literature and CDs to everyone who stopped by at the booth. Information about the Sant Nirankari Mission and the local congregation details were given to all, who showed an interest. SNM members answered everyone’s questions and gave details about the Mission’s ideology. There were 70 vendors at this event along with 20 non-profit organizations, who set up similar booths.

BLOOD DRIVE: A Blood Drive was organized in conjunction with OneBlood Blood Bank. The local chapter has organized several blood drives with the same blood bank in the past. A Blood donation bus was parked outside the convention center and the IRCC organizers helped by making several announcements to inform everyone about the Blood drive. Along with blood donations, members also donated plasma. Donors received free blankets and refreshments from the Blood Bank.
