The Weight of Butter! As you Sow, So shall you Reap!

Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Radio Ruhaniyat!

We often talk about “As we sow, so shall we reap” or Treat others how you would like to be treated.

We don’t usually realize that we treat others a certain way, but when that same treatment is done towards us, we complain.

We’d like to share a story, which beautifully illustrates that what you sow, you reap. You will get the fruits as per your karma.

"There was a small business man in a village, who used to sell butter in the nearby town. A big shop owner in the town was his regular customer.
Every month, the villager would deliver 1 Kg blocks of butter to the shop owner and in turn he used to get grocery items like sugar, lentils and other household items from him.

One day, the shop owner decided to weigh the butter and to his surprise every block of butter weighed 900 gms instead of 1kg.
The following month when the villager came to supply the Butter, the shop owner was very angry at him and told him to leave. To this, the villager replied courteously "Sir, I am a very poor villager, I don't have enough money to even buy the required weights for weighing the butter, I usually put the 1Kg sugar you give me on one side of weighing scale and weigh butter on the other side"

This simple story very beautifully illustrates that what we give to others comes back to us.
It is correct that God is the doer but HE has given freedom to all of us to do our Karmas (actions). Everybody is allowed to perform the actions as per his/her own will.

Let’s take the example of a school. A School never teaches anyone to fail. A Student, who fails, can't blame the school for this failure because there are other students who are getting good scores. The school is same, the teachings are the same but the students grasp the education based on their own individual capability and capacity. The students make the choice and decide how much attention they would pay during classes and hence how much they would be able to grasp.

If someone gets good grades, he/she can very easily claim that, because of the high standards of the school’s teaching patterns, they are doing well in studies. But on the contrary, if someone fails, they cannot blame the school.

So whatsoever good happens to us is, due to Mercy of the Lord Master along with our Karmas in right direction. But bad things happen due to our Karmas in the wrong direction.

Do not whine that you are burdened with difficulties. Problems and unpleasant circumstances don’t necessarily mean that someone is being punished for their karma. If someone comes across unbearable problems or difficulties, one has to understand that they are going to see good times shortly.
Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.

And Remember: There are four basics of sympathy: charity, kind speech, doing good, and treating all alike.

-Until next time, this is Preet Sahi reminding you to Stay Spiritual!
