Love went on Vacation! Happy Valentines Day!

Valentines Day comes in every year as a reminder that Love is the most powerful emotion to be experienced by humans. Life is all about love. The foundation of every relationship is love. Be it our spouses, children, parents, friends…..we are all bonded with each other because of love.

A young boy named Jason lost his leg when he was 19-years old. He had a girlfriend at that time and they were very much in love. She was very supportive and gave him all the love and care he needed. After a while, she suddenly decided to move abroad, claiming that she wanted to earn some money for them. He wanted to believe her, but was convinced that she was lying. He told her they needed to break up and that it would be better for her. One month later, his doorbell rang. He took his crutches, opened the door and there she was. He couldn’t even manage to get a word out and got so stunned to see her that he fell down. She kneeled down beside him, hugged him and said, “ I didn’t run away from you. We’re going to the hospital tomorrow and there’s a prosthesis waiting for you. I went abroad to earn money so you’ll be able to walk again — do you understand?” Jason was so overwhelmed with emotion that he couldn’t utter a single word — He just hugged her tight and cried. The essence of true love is pure bliss when two strangers can meet and fall in love with each other till eternity.

The love between blood relations is pure at heart but often taken for granted.

The story goes that, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy."

The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out that the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, "Don't you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you, Daddy."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.

Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also said that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each one of us, as humans beings, have been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses... from our children, family members, friends, and God. Love is what keeps mankind going and simply the easiest to give and share. There is simply no other feeling, more precious than love.

Once upon a time all feelings and emotions went to a coastal island for a vacation. According to their nature, each was having a good time. Suddenly, a warning of an impending storm was announced and everyone was advised to evacuate the island. The announcement caused sudden panic. All rushed to their boats. Even damaged boats were quickly repaired and commissioned for duty.

Yet, Love did not wish to flee quickly. There was so much to do. But as the clouds darkened, Love realized it was time to leave. Alas, there were no boats to spare. Love looked around with hope.

Just then Prosperity passed by in a luxurious boat. Love shouted, “Prosperity, could you please take me in your boat?” “No,” replied Prosperity, “my boat is full of precious possessions, gold and silver. There is no place for you.”

A little later Vanity came by in a beautiful boat. Again Love shouted, “Could you help me, Vanity? I am stranded and need a lift. Please take me with you.” Vanity responded haughtily, “No, I cannot take you with me. My boat will get soiled with your muddy feet.”

Sorrow passed by after some time. Again, Love asked for help. But it was to no avail. “No, I cannot take you with me. I am so sad. I want to be by myself.”

When Happiness passed by a few minutes later, Love again called for help. But Happiness was so happy that it did not look around, hardly concerned about anyone.

Love was growing restless and dejected. Just then somebody called out, “Come Love, I will take you with me.” Love did not know who was being so magnanimous, but jumped on to the boat, greatly relieved that she would reach a safe place.

On getting off the boat, Love met Knowledge. Puzzled, Love inquired, “Knowledge, do you know who so generously gave me a lift just when no one else wished to help?”

Knowledge smiled, “Oh, that was Time.” “And why would Time stop to pick me and take me to safety?” Love wondered. Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and replied, “Because only Time knows your true greatness and what you are capable of. Only Love can bring peace and great happiness in this world.”

“The important message is that when we are prosperous, we overlook love. When we feel important, we forget love. Even in happiness and sorrow we forget love. Only with time do we realize the importance of love.

And Remember: Hatred Paralysis Life; Love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; Love illumines it. From all of here at Radio Ruhaniyat, a very Happy Valentines day to everyone!
