The Silversmith! God’s Purification!

Hello everyone and thanks for joining us for another episode of Radio Ruhaniyat. Trusting God with utmost faith and complete surrender is the highest form of devotion. No matter what happens in our life, it is always for our best. Hardships and ups and downs come in as a blessing in disguise and leave us stronger and better than ever. Every situation results in our spiritual growth.

In the Bible, Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study class.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver'. She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'
He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh! That is easy --"when I see my image in it!!!'

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you! After all, God made man in His own image!

Pass this good news on right now. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end because HE will not leave them in the situation for too long to be destroyed by the fires of this world.

He works on each one of us at some time or the other in our lives so that we are refined! Life is not a bed of roses, it’s a package deal that comes along with the thorns. What matters is how we handle life.

We are all aware of how prints are developed in photography. Prints are developed from negatives in a dark room. Similarly, when there is darkness in our life, just take it, that God is developing some beautiful picture in that darkness and when He is done, the negatives in our lives, are developed into positives. But there has to be an initial negative for the real picture to show forth.

Diamonds are found in ugly rocks and so is gold and platinum. Tons of rubble is thrown just to find one gram of diamond stone. Every day God gives us diamonds hidden deep inside tons of rubble and leaves it upto us to search for those diamonds and sell them to enrich others with them. That rubble is the problems we face every day, while the diamonds are the precious lessons we get from them. We enrich others by sharing what we have learnt with others. So be courageous and share your victories and battles with others.

When you realize there is nothing lacking, then the whole world will belong to you.

-Until next time, this is Preet Sahi reminding you to Stay Spiritual!
