Acorns and the Pumpkins! God Is Always Right!

Hi everyone and thanks for tuning in to this week’s episode on Radio Ruhaniyat!

We often face situations, which are not favorable to our minds and we establish that Life is not fair. Eventually, when we look back, we realize that every phase passes by and things were not that bad after all. Sometimes we are even able to see that every situation is a blessing in disguise because some good always comes out of every situation.

An old poem describes a woman walking through a meadow, meditating on nature. While strolling about, she came upon a field of golden pumpkins. In the corner of the field, there stood a majestic, huge oak tree.

She sat under the oak tree musing on the strange twists in nature, which put tiny acorns on huge branches and huge pumpkins on tiny vines. She thought to herself, "God blundered with Creation! He should have put the small acorns on the tiny vines and the large pumpkins on the huge branches."

Nodding off, the woman stretched out under the oak tree for a nap. A few minutes after falling asleep, she was awakened by a tiny acorn, which had bounced off her nose. Chuckling to herself, she rubbed her nose and thought, "Thank God it wasn’t a pumpkin. Maybe God was right after all!"

We often find ourselves wondering why God does things the way He does. If we started worshiping God from the moment we were born, constantly, with every breath, until when we die after a normal span of life, we will gain spiritual knowledge equivalent to just a grain of sand. Imagine how vast God and His powers are. Just trust Him and have Faith in Him. Otherwise, you will end up wasting most of your valuable lifetime, just questioning the existence and the operation of God.

A new minister was walking with an older, more seasoned minister in the garden one day. Feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was asking the older preacher for some advice. The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals.

The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the will of God for his life and ministry. But because of his great respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to try to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact. It wasn't long before he realized how impossible this was to do.

Noticing the younger preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud without tearing it, the older preacher began to recite the following poem... "It is only a tiny rosebud, a flower of God's design; but I cannot unfold the petals, with these clumsy hands of mine." "The secret of unfolding flowers is not known to such as I. GOD opens the flowers so easily, but in my hands they die." "If I cannot unfold a rosebud, this flower of God's design, then how can I have the wisdom to unfold this life of mine?" "So I'll trust in God for leading each moment of my day. I will look to God for guidance in each step of the way." "The path that lies before me, only my Lord knows. I'll trust God to unfold the moments, just as He unfolds the rose."

Jesus Christ said: "Let Thy Will be done."

Millions of prayers have been offered to God, but there can be no better, no greater, no more fulfilling prayer than this. If we love God, we become happy. If we serve God, we become happier. If we surrender our individual will to God's Will, we become the happiest.

When something is as per God's Will, we will feel a kind of inner joy or satisfaction even before we start doing it. While working, we will also get joy. Finally, we will realize that we are content and happy regardless of whether our action is fruitful or fruitless.

Ordinarily, we are happy only when success dawns and we see victory at the end of our journey. But if we can have the same kind of happiness, joy, and satisfaction irrespective of success or failure, then we will know that what we have done is God's Will.

The Apollo 13 space mission went down in history as one of the most successful failures of the space program. When the experts frantically calculated the capsule's return flight path, they were painfully aware that if they were wrong by even one degree, the astronauts would miss Earth and fly into deep space. They had absolutely no room for error. It is the same with God's character. Everything He does; is precisely accurate and profoundly well calculated. There is never any room for error in God’s plan.

And remember: If things happen your way, you are lucky, but if they don't then you are very lucky because it is now in accordance with God's will.

-Until next time, this is Preet Sahi reminding you to Stay Spiritual!
