In Line For Fruit From God! The Ripe Time!

Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of Radio Ruhaniyat.

We all go through phases when we feel that life is unfair. We always want things to go our way and we get disappointed when life is not perfect. We constantly fail to groom our minds to accept life as it is. We always expect things to be in accordance with our state of mind. Have we really worked on re-framing our minds towards complete acceptance? This is the sole key to happiness. The first step towards change is AWARENESS. The second step is ACCEPTANCE.

Here’s a nice story that helps us understand how God operates in our lives.

A young man was told that God is distributing blessings in the form of a fruit to everyone. Who so ever is fortunate enough to get the fruit will be blessed for the rest of his life. The young man was a very spiritual and God fearing person and wanted the fruit so that he could be blessed for the rest of his life. He went to the place where the blessings were being distributed and saw a very long line. He was determined to seek blessings, so he stood in line without a second thought. After standing and waiting patiently for a very long time, his turn finally came. When he put both his hands forward, God placed the fruit in his hands but for some reason, the fruit dropped from his hands. He was in such an awe of being so close to God that he could not focus on keeping his hands firm. The fruit fell so far down that he could not even see where it went.

The young man was extremely disappointed at himself and asked God to give him another one. But God told him that he had lost his chance and that there were many more people behind him to whom God had to bless. As he was about leave, one of God’s ministers pulled him aside and told him that he is allowed to stand back in the line if he really wanted the fruit. When the man looked at the line again, it had grown twice as long. He had an intense desire to seek the blessings and although disheartened, stood back in line. It seemed like a very-very long time as he waited for his turn. All the while, he was standing and waiting in the line, there was a lot of turmoil going on his mind in which he was wondering why the fruit fell from his hands. He was sad and full of regret. He kept praying to God to bless him with success in the second round.

When his turn finally came, the second time around, God put the fruit in his hands and this time he held on to it with caution. He was very happy and in complete bliss. As he was about to leave, God held him and explained:

“I saw your faith and devotion and decided that I wanted to bless you with a very special fruit because I knew that is exactly what you deserved. But the special fruit that I wanted you to have; was still unripe and I did not want to give it to you in its raw state. I wanted it to be perfect when I put it in your hands. When you first came to me, the fruit was still unripe and I had to make you wait so that when it comes into your hands, it is fully ripe and perfect for you. You had to wait all that time, so that the fruit can ripen.”

So it is in life! We become impatient with God because we want Him to fulfill our desires. But God sometimes makes us wait because He wants the best for us. If a child is sick and has a cold, no matter how much he cries for ice cream, his mother will not give it to him because she knows it is not good for him and can harm him. Similarly, no matter how much we crave for certain things to happen, if they are not good for us and will be harmful, God will not give them to us because He loves and cares for us. Just like the sun is always there even though rain clouds may try to hide it, God is never away from us even though the storms of our lives may sometimes make it seem so. He will make us wait and will bless us with what we really deserve at the right time. It has beautifully been said that:

GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS IN THREE WAYS:
HE WILL EITHER SAY YES AND GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT,
OR HE WILL SAY NO AND GIVE YOU SOMETHING BETTER,
OR HE WILL SAY WAIT AND WILL GIVE YOU THE BEST!

-Until next time, this is Preet Sahi reminding you to Stay Spiritual!
