The Sant Nirankari
Mission (SNM), Toronto branch participated in the annual
Humanness Food Drive during the month of February 2017 to
commemorate Guru Puja Diwas. This event was organised by SNM
Canada across the country, in partnership with the Salvation
Army and local food banks, to celebrate the birthday and the
vision of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, who
dedicated His entire life to serve the mankind.
In Greater
Toronto Area (GTA), the members of SNM devoted time and effort
to raise money to buy and donate 8,810 pounds of non-perishable
food items, to the Salvation Army, including canned food, baby
food, soups, pasta, cereals and rice etc. The devotees of the
Nirankari Mission have always expressed their devotion to God by
loving His creation – the human beings. Therefore, they always
come forward with great enthusiasm to serve humanity. Many youth
were inspired to be a part of this selfless act by not only
contributing but volunteering their time to work as a team to
buy and sort these food items. The love and enthusiasm shown by
the youth had a very positive impact on the local community
members. They showed their appreciation also by generously
contributing to this noble cause.
With the
blessings of Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji, this initiative
was a true reflection of the teachings and vision of His
Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj. His Holiness expressed on
His 60th birthday, “For my birthday, my wish is that how much
unconditional love you have for me, my wish is that you show
that much love towards your fellow beings.”
