On Jun 3rd, 2017, the Sant Nirankari Mission (SNM) Toronto collaborated with local churches to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation.
This event was promoted as Canada150 by the Canadian government and is a celebration of Canadian values of Multiculturalism,
Unity in Diversity, Mutual Love and Goodwill for all.
On this occasion, The Sant Nirankari Mission collaborated with various other organizations and faith groups in Brampton, Georgetown
and Norval, to host a Festival of Humanness at the Centre for Oneness in Brampton. The full day event, highlighting the message of
Unity in Diversity and Peaceful Coexistence was open to everyone in the community. Special guests included Kamal Khera,
the Member of Parliament representing Brampton West.
With an overall theme celebrating diversity, we hosted events such as East Indian dances, Tabla fusion musical performance and a special Irish dance performance by members of local community. In addition, there were various other activities for the members to enjoy, such as: Humanness exhibition, arts and crafts, kite flying, virtual reality demo and games for kids and elders. Canadian Blood Services, Heart and Stroke Foundation and a team of chiropractors had booths setup to provide health related awareness.
Special tours of the Centre of Oneness were also organized explaining the philosophy of the Mission.
The Mission’s message of Oneness and Humanness aligns very well with our Canadian values. Canada believes that you can be a Canadian while respecting the country of your heritage. The Sant Nirankari Mission adds a spiritual dimension to this by bringing in the awareness that God is in all and all are in God. Hence, with no apparent we are truly promoting Oneness and Humanness.
By organizing such events the Mission not only promotes human values, it also serves and gives back to the society.
