The saints from Toronto branch celebrated Guru Pooja Diwas, with great enthusiasm and devotion, to mark the birthday of His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji. A two-day event, at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan (Center for Oneness), commenced with a Sewadal Rally on Feburary 22. Sewadal members, including children, participated whole heartily in large numbers. They performed Guru Pooja song along with marching song and PT parade to show their gratitude towards Satguru. Addressing this rally, the branch pramukh, Rev. Parduman Dhinsa Ji emphasized the importance of the selfless service towards Satguru, Sadh Sangat (congregation) and community at large.
On Feburary 23, a special congregation was held to celebrate Guru Pooja Diwas. On this occasion devotees expressed their feelings for Satguru through songs, poems and speeches in Hindi, English and Punjabi languages. The congregation concluded with the discourse of His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji shown on a big screen.
In celebration of Guru Puja Diwas, every year the congregation donates food as a service to humanity. Similarly, this year the congregation continued on this path by donating 8,600 pounds of food. The food was donated to the Salvation Army, a social welfare organization known for its charitable works.
