Sant Nrankari Mission Toronto held Blood Donation Camp for Manav Ekta Diwas Blood is a universal human life line. In recognition of this and as a part of Baba ji's teachings, "Blood should flow in the veins and not in the drains!" the Sant Nirankari Mission (SNM), Toronto Branch held their 22st blood donation clinic in Brampton, Ontario on Saturday April 19th, 2014. The enthusiasm with which volunteers gathered to donate blood is very commendable.
In the first clinic of this year 108 units were collected over 101 from last year with many first time donors who were youth. A first time donor commented that the experience was very enjoyable and simple because not only was it easy to donate blood, but the blood also regenerates quickly, causing no harm to the body. The event was opened by Honourable Mayor Susan Fennell who made her very first visit to the Bhawan and was overwhelmed with the love, selfless service and community she saw.
The Canadian Blood Services representatives were really happy and thankful for the clinic as it was Easter Long Weekend and they have a special need for blood at this time. SNM being a partner with Canadian Blood Services, they have requested that in the future we request more staff and more beds at the clinic which means it is getting bigger! Also, due to the time, there were more donors but the clinic had to close.
