Food Drive at Sant Nirankari Mission, Toronto

Sant Nirankari Mission Toronto celebrated Guru Puja Diwas on February 24, 2013 by donating 18,603 lbs. of food to The Food Banks of Canada "Giving Hope Today" drive. It is 40% more than last year. The Mission celebrates the birthday of head of the Mission, His Holiness Hardev Singh Ji. Few years ago His Holiness started the food drive on this occasion in North American and European countries and since then the Mission in Canada is donating food. The Mission is continuously surpassing the target year by year in all branches of Sant Nirankari Mission within Canada which includes Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto. In 2012 Toronto alone donated about 13,400 lbs. of food to Salvation Army of Brampton for the people in need or to the less fortunate.

On this success Food Banks of Canada recognized the mission’s efforts. They really appreciated the Mission’s efforts and dedication of the members towards the love and affection for the humanity at large. This food will go a long way in helping the needy in the region. They thanked all the volunteers who assisted in loading the food onto the truck and to those who spent hours wrapping the product for easier handling. In the end they thanked the Mission for helping Food Banks of Canada in helping others.

Inspired The Director In-charge Social Services, Branch In-Charge and all the members of the congregation worked hard for the food drive which proved to be really successful.
