Sant Nirankari Mission - Toronto: Community Services - Blood Donation

To save a life is a noble venture, and doing so through blood donation is a priceless gift to the person whose life has been saved.

Sant Nirankari Mission (SNM) is a leader amongst blood donation organizations not just in India, but across the world. SNM encourages and recognizes the donation of blood as a universal human lifeline, which transcends caste, color, gender, or creed.

Inspired by His Holiness, blood donations programs were started in 1986 in the Mission. In Toronto, the SNM members have been organizing blood donation clinics since Sept 6th, 1997, when they first supported the efforts of The Canadian Red Cross Society to collect blood to save lives. In recent years volunteer participation at these camps has been increasing. In appreciation of the zeal with which the devotees and volunteers of the Mission donate blood, the Canadian Blood Services requested the Mission to extend the frequency of the camps to twice a year.

In 2010 the Canadian Blood Services honored the SNM Canada with the award of ‘Partners for Life’ for their continued support over more than a decade. The Canadian Blood Services showed their appreciation by profiling the SNM in their issue of Pulse magazine that was published in September, 2010. The magazine is only published quarterly and in each edition they include a profile on a Partner for Life (PFL) organization. SNM is also profiled on the Canada Blood Services Website.
