The Importance of Devotion Day (Bhakti Parv)

Devotion is the essential link between God and His devotee and it can be firmed up by remaining in communion with God. When one imbibes positive values, only then can one turn a true devotee. Devotion springs from the heart and not from the head.

In devotion what is important is the feeling and not the intellect. Not dress but the sense of non-doership and humility is the mark of a devotee and these characteristics strengthen devotion. Patience and contentment are the chief characteristics of devotion which mark out a devotee. Virtues lend sublimity to the life of a devotee. When these virtues are imbibed, virtues like tolerance and broad-mindeness are strengthened. Only by imbibing such virtues the devotees strengthen their faith. Those, who give prominence to devotion, are revered for ages.

To strengthen devotion, apart from the sense of non-doership, we need to render selfless service which bestows real happiness and bliss.

When a devotee imbibes humility and the sense of gratitude for God, he is on the right path. To inspire our children for devotion, we should follow the teachings of the Satguru.

When we say that he is all-knowing, we must have faith that he takes care of all his devotees, wherever they may be.
