Sant Nirankari Mission, Sydney participates in Doonside Village Festival

As part of their community outreach activities Sant Nirankari Mission, Sydney Branch participated in Doonside Festival.

The festival is organised every year to celebrate the spirit of different communities. Along with the different stalls selling food and other wares there were many other attractions such as a karaoke competition, free rides, NRL players and an Elvis impersonator, different dance groups including an African artist dance group.

SNM Sydney gave a bhangra performance at the festival. The performance was done by a youth bhangra team of the SNM Sydney. The team not only showed the ethnic dance skills but they also taught bhangra steps to the spectators. Then the spectators joined them in the Bhangra moves on Dhol beats.

The mission also put a stall together to display the mission literature. Along with that there were other activities going on at the stall to engage and attract the spectators which included Calligraphy, Henna, Nail Art, Face painting. The Stall was very popular among the community members.

SNM volunteers also distributed balloons to the kids. The balloons had the logo of the mission and the address of the Satsang bhawan.These services were provided free of cost.

The organisers have requested the Mission to put the stall again next year and repeat the performance.
