1st Australian Ladies Samagam - Report
The Nirankari Mission is well known for the respect and importance it gives to women in the Mission. The Mission has been organizing Ladies Samagam for decades now in India. Now this event has also been taken to countries outside India too. It has had its beginning in Australia in 2015.
The first Australian Ladies Samagam was organized in Sydney on 04 October 2015. Preparation for this Samagam started more than 4 months ago after the Australian Executive Committee gave approval for it. Teams were formed to take care of different aspects of the Samagam. With the blessings of His Holiness Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji they successfully brought the Samagam to fruition in the first week of October 2015.he Samagam saw participation of women saints from India, New Zealand, USA and other states of Australia. Chaired by Sister Harlivleen Bajwa, Head of Social Service Wing of SNM USA, we heard spiritually inspiring speeches and songs by women saints of the mission. The theme of the Samagam was "A World without Walls". The women saints sang glory of the True Master and Lord Almighty as well as touched on the importance of spirituality to rid this world of violence and walls created by divisive teachings of power hungry leaders. References were given to such great quotes like "men has guided missiles and misguided men" by Martin Luther King Jr and "Same material is used to build bridges as to build walls. So why not build bridges than walls" that is often mentioned by His Holiness.
We also had speeches by external participants such as Sister Deepali Patel of BAPS and attendance of large number of local community. Finally in the postulation Sister Harlivleen Bajwa reminded everyone of the contributions of the women saints of the mission, especially Rajmata Kulwant Kaur ji.
