A Report on Food Drive “kNOw HUNGER”
 Held on 19th March 2016


The Sant Nirankari Mission is a spiritual movement with its main objective being to unite mankind for the good of humanity.

The Mission is founded on the belief of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam”, that the whole world is one family.  And that it is our responsibility to offer a helping hand to people who are less fortunate in our Human family.

With this thought in Mind, the Sant Nirankari Mission, South Africa successfully organized and hosted a Food Drive event (“kNOw HUNGER”) in Johannesburg on 19th March 2016.

During this event free food hampers were distributed to more than 850 people. The drive not only brought smiles and contentment to the hundreds of families who got food but also to those who generously donated and volunteered during the event.

The mission received donations in form of food and money not only from it’s followers in South Africa but also from lot of local people residing in Johannesburg as well as from few corporates.

H.E. Mr. Randhir Jaiswal (The Consulate General of India, Johannesburg) inaugurated the event and distributed food hampers till the end. Apart from Consulate General of India, various other dignitaries also witnessed the event.

After the distribution, during the felicitation ceremony, Mr. Jaiswal, in his interview to the media congratulated Mission and explained the importance of these initiatives in the society. He even mentioned that the Mission is known for it’s social activities not only in India but world over. The Mission also presented him a Certificate of Appreciation for supporting the event.

Other dignitaries like Mr. Gerald Masemola, (The Head of Social Crime Prevention from Bramley Police Station) and Mr. Mansukh Boodhia (Chairman, Marlboro Temple) also congratulated Mission and promised support in similar initiatives in future also.

The Mission also gave Certificate of Appreciation to all the Donors, Volunteers and to all the members of Community Policing Forum for supporting the event.
