When I was first shown you,
I didn't know what to do,
I was still a child inside its true,
The material world was all that I knew.

As I grew up I sang all the songs,
I mouthed the words, playing along,
My mind was weak; temptation strong,
Like being in the shade while the sun shone.

Slowly but surely I began to realise,
That this is an illusion before my eyes,
The house, car, luxuries, it's no surprise,
It will all vanish no matter what I try.

Your love keeps the darkness away,
Keep me in Your sight I pray,
Let me walk this path and not stray,
With you beside me I’m not afraid.

As I read the books, I now understand,
Give me the strength to follow your plan,
Let me spread your love to every man,
Christian, Muslim, Sikh, all will walk hand in hand.
