To take inspiration from his life a Prerna Diwas was held on December 18th, 2020 and was blessed by Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj.
Rev. Ramit Chandna Ji, Members of the Executive Committee and various saints from all over India were present in this virtual Sangat.
Rev. Brij Mohan Singh Sethi Ji was born to Late Sardar Harbans Singh Sethi and Sardarni Mohinder Kaur on 4th November, 1942 in Jhelum, a city in undivided India. After the partition in 1947, the family migrated to Dehradun where they lived for 6 months and then shifted to Chandni Chowk in Delhi. The family was one of the few first families who were attached with the mission from the very beginning.
In 1950 the family shifted to Jagadhri, Yamuna Nagar and was one of the few families who were active participants of the congregations at that time. Brij Mohan Sethi Ji completed his matriculation from Mukund Lal Public School and after that the family shifted to Darya Ganj in Delhi in 1956. At the young age of 18 years, he established a very successful business of auto parts in Delhi by touring all over India and then opened branches in Patna and Kolkata.
He got married to Late Davinder Kaur on 28th January, 1967 who belonged to a Sikh family from Jabalpur. After his marriage they shifted to Kolkata for 5 years. In 1968 he lost his mother, Sardarni Mohinder Kaur who was the real sister of Late Madan Kaur Ji (Mother of Mata Savinder Ji). Madan Kaur Ji and his Mother were one of the first women in the family to be blessed with Brahmgyan. His father Harbans Singh Sethi was the first male member in the family to be blessed with Brahmgyan and thus, laid foundation of the spiritual journey of Brij Mohan Singh Sethi Ji who was then blessed by God Knowledge at a young age of 10 years by Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji.
Brij Mohan Singh Sethi Ji had one brother and one sister; all were blessed with Brahmgyan and the family was devoted to the Mission from the very beginning.
Brij Mohan Ji shifted back to Delhi in Darya Ganj, old Delhi where he stayed for the next 13 years. His father was very close to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and the house in Darya Ganj was frequently visited by Him. He lost his Father in 1977 and since he was the eldest child. all the responsibilities fell on his shoulders. He then along with his family shifted to Jangpura Extension, New Delhi in 1985 which is the present residence of the family. He was blessed with a daughter and two sons.
He lost his wife to cancer on 19th October, 1989 and his elder son Bobby had mental health issues but, being a truly devout follower he never questioned Nirankar and accepted His Will. He raised his children on his own and after getting them settled and married he embarked upon the true spiritual journey he was meant to live.
He was blessed with a Gyan Patra on 20th January, 2007 by Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji and in the Annual Meeting called on 28th April, 2007, Baba Ji nominated him as a member of the working committee. On the same day he was made a member of the Executive committee and was given charge of the Transport Department where he completely computerized the whole setup; this was done for the first time. After this he was blessed with the Sewa of a Joint Member In-charge Land Purchase and Acquisition Department in 2009. In 2017 Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji blessed him with the Sewa of Member In-charge Land Purchase and Acquisition Department which he dutifully discharged till his last breath on 16th December, 2020. During his tenure of the Land Purchase Sewa he made many reforms including computerising all records and buying land in places where there were no Bhawans or were few in that area.
He was a man with strong moral values, a loving father, a doting grandfather but, most of all a truly devoted saint whose only purpose in life was the betterment of the Mission. He showered love upon everyone who came in contact with him and was lovingly addressed as ‘Daddy Ji’ by the members of the Sadhsangat who were in close contact with him.
He is survived by a daughter Avneet (Vicky Ji) and son Gurmeet Sethi (Shimpy Ji).
The life lived by Brijmohan Sethi Ji is an example to be imbibed by us; to have unquestionable faith in Nirankar at all times and at the same time discharging all your family obligations and still surrendering oneself for the betterment of mankind.
