199 TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE THALASSEMIA CHECK UP CAMP,

82 CAMPS TO BE ORGANIZED IN NATIONWIDE DRIVE



MUMBAI, 23RD APRIL 2019: Amongst the Nirankari Fraternity, the Month of April every year, witnesses countrywide conduction of blood donation camps as a part of Manav Ekta Diwas (Human Unity Day) to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji who laid down his life on 24th April in 1980 while crusading for truth, love, peace and unity. A nationwide drive of 82 Blood Donation Camps is being organized in 21 states on this occasion. One out of the same was held at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Chembur, yesterday, with the participation of V N Desai Blood Bank (142), L.T Sion Hospital Blood bank (304), Sant Nirankari Blood bank (120), with a total collection of 566 units of blood.

Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Former Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission said that ‘blood should flow in veins and not in drains’. Ever since, for the past 33 years the devotees of the Mission have been participating in these blood donation camps with a spirit of devotion considering the noble gesture as a part of their tribute to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, Chacha Partap Singh Ji and hundreds of other martyrs of the Mission.
A check up camp for detection of Thalassemia Minor too was organized and 199 devotees benefitted from it.

The drive was inaugurated by Rev. Smt. Surinder Ahuja, an ardent devotee of the Mission from Hyderabad who was in the city for the series of Mahila Samagams organized by the Mission in Mumbai. Rev. Smt. Primal Singh (Coordinator Prachar and Press & Publicity Departments of the Mandal), Rev. Bhupinder Chugh, Zonal Incharge, Mumbai, Rev.Sarabjeet Shauq, Additional Zonal Incharge, Rev. Babubhai Panchal, Kshetriya Sanchalak and Rev. Lalit Dalvi Kshetriya Sanchalak of Sant Nirankari Sewadal were present on the occasion.
In a joint effort the Sewadal and SNCF volunteers made all the necessary arrangements.

With a peep into the past, since 1986 a total of 6076 camps have been held with a collection of 10, 25,507 units with which the Mission has already emerged as one of the leading blood donating voluntary organizations in the country
