Guru Puja Diwas 2015

On Sunday 22nd February 2015 the celebrations of Guru Puja Diwas were held in the Montreal Nirankari Bhawan.

The morning started at 8.00 am with sewadal sisters already busy in the kitchen preparing breakfast and all the saints started to pour into the local hall to hold this spiritual event. Upon their arrival all enjoyed breakfast as well as the exchange of greetings with each other.

The spiritual gathering on this day was for one and all to come along and share not only their views and experiences but to take away these words of wisdom and share them with each and all practically.

At 9.30 am sharp the sewadal rally commenced after the welcoming of Rev. Mudhar Ji who was to preside on the stage. This comprised of the prayer song to the Lord Master and the marching song whereby the sewadal pledge of their duty towards their Lord Master and mankind. The rally continued with the exercises which reminds us how important it is to maintain the fitness of our health along with the spiritual wealth that we have been blessed with. The rally concluded with the Guru Puja song in which the words narrate "the highest and most pious is the worship to our Guru. It brings peace and colour of happiness into our lives".

Next were the sewadal activities and games. All members participated in this fun filled event but at the same it was about behaving fairly, observing rules and respecting others with whatever the outcome maybe.

Before the conclusion there were words of praise and fortune given from the Sewadal Sanchalak. He reminded all of how to be grateful for the opportunity on being blessed for these moments. The Sewadal Unit holds an important role in the Nirankari Mission and therefore it one's duty who wears this uniform to be able to uphold that role.

The final words that concluded the above were from Rev.Mudhar Ji. Once again all were reminded that how fortunate we are to have the blessings of the Perfect Master in our lives. Those who rise above the physical forms can thoroughly serve the well-being of mankind. A balanced life requires co-ordination of positivity. Our Lord Master is a true example of this. He lives to serve the whole words with so much equality and humility. He never limits himself to anything or anyone.

At 11.00 am verses from the Avtar Bani were recited and the formal proceedings commenced at 11.15 am. Congregating to the sound of devotional songs and inspiring speeches the speakers contributed to the inspiration with profound words of wisdom.

The main focus on this day was that celebrating the "Worship to our Lord Master". A saint is an embodiment of the Lord Master's teachings and we must bear only these teachings in our life. By practically imbibing the virtues and shedding our vices we begin to feel the true essence of worship. This worship is to be based on the belief that the Almighty God manifests himself as the Lord Master which brings our connection to him in fruition - the soul meeting the oversoul. In return this means that now it is time for us to fulfill our promise to Him by living a life of faith filled with virtues in a state of God-realization. To worship him in spirit is the ultimate truth and this is to rise above and beyond the physical forms.

The final discourse from the stage by Rev.Mudhar Ji also assured everyone that to celebrate this day and everyday one needs to be rid of the mental ailments that bring us down. Anything else that we do or say for example anger, pride, arrogance may give the illusion of power, but is in reality only a reflection of what is inside of us. When we are rid of these we can truly enjoy the world together in Universal Brotherhood, under the Fatherhood of the One Formless God.

Let us pray today that we can all come together in the same manner and live and serve with the name of our True Master.
