Spiritual Guide | Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj
Merger With Almighty
When Baba Hardev Singh Ji
inaugurated a massive blood donation camp where a record number
of 1738 devotees donated their blood in Delhi on April 24, 2016
and addressed a huge gathering at the Manav Ekta Divas Samagam,
nobody knew that they were receiving his divine blessings in his
loving physical form in India for the last time. On April 25 in
the morning he left for New York where his gracious spouse Pujya
Mata Savinder Ji was under treatment in a nursing home. Their
sons-in-law Sandeep Khinda Ji and Avneet Setya Ji, daughter
Sudiksha Ji and Raj Mami Ji from Delhi were already with her.
Satguru, however, could not stay away from his devotees even for a single day, so he would address congregations not only in New York but other places also. He blessed the Sunday Sangat on May 8, 2016 which was the Mother’s Day also, in New Jersey.
Baba Ji also wanted to review the arrangements for the Second Nirankari International Samagam (NIS-2) scheduled to be held in Toronto (Canada) from June 29 to July 3, 2016, and encourage the organizers, mostly from youth. It was with this objective that he left New York on May 12, in the morning (local time) for Montreal in Canada. The other saints travelling with him in the car included both his sons-in-law Sandeep Khinda Ji and Avneet Setya Ji and a devout follower of the Mission, Vivek Sharma Ji from New York.
As the party reached near Beauharnois just about 40 Kms from Montreal, their car overturned. The crash proved fatal for Baba Ji and Avneet Setya also succumbed to his injuries later on. The car crash took place at about 5.00 am, on Friday, May 13, 2016 (IST). No doubt the news travelled fast but nobody was prepared to believe. Everybody wanted to confirm from the Sant Nirankari Mandal Headquarters.
The Mandal confirmed the news but advised everybody not to rush to Delhi or Baba Ji’s residence till they hear about the next programme. Even then, devotees could not hold themselves and they started reaching Delhi in thousands.
After completing necessary formalities, the last remains of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and Avneet Setya Ji were placed in a big hall in Montreal on Saturday May 14, from 9.00 pm to 12.00 pm (IST) for Antim Darshan. Thousands of devotees from all over Canada, America and some other countries paid their last respect to their beloved Satguru and Avneet Setya Ji also. Pujya Mata Ji, Sudiksha Ji and several saints from New York had already reached Montreal within hours after the crash.
The bodies reached the IGI Airport in Delhi on Monday, May 16, 2016 at about 9.00 am. Pujya Mata Savinder Ji, Rev. Sandeep Khinda Ji. Holy Daughter Sudiksha Ji, Raj Mami Ji and several devotees from Canada, America and UK also travelled by the same flight. The two bodies were first taken to Baba Ji’s residence, (Satsang Bhawan) in Sant Nirankari Colony and then placed in glass caskets at Ground No. 8 for Antim Darshan by devotees and other God-loving people round the clock. About 5 lakh people from all over India and abroad came and saw their beloved Satguru in physical form for the last time and paid their respects. Many could not hold their tears that expressed their gratitude to His Holiness for God-knowledge he gave and the way of living he taught.
Several VIPs including the Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister of Delhi Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Dy. Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia also paid their respect to Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj.
Antim Darshan continued till 4.00 am on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Thereafter, the bodies were placed on flower bedecked open vehicles and taken from Ground No. 8 to Nigam Bodh Ghat with full respects. The procession was led by Sewa Dal men and women in uniform followed by saints associated with Prachar and Prabandh of the Mission. They were all donning white dress with Dupatta. All other devotees followed behind the vehicles. Despite scorching heat of the sun they marched on foot, joining the 10 Km long procession from wherever they were. Starting at 9.00 am from Ground No.8, the procession reached Nigam Bogh Ghat at 1.00 pm where the funeral took place at the CNG Crematorium in the presence of Pujya Mata Savinder Ji and other members and relatives of the holy family.
In the meantime, Pujya Mata Savinder Ji appeared as the next Spiritual Head of the Mission at a brief ceremony at Ground No. 8 at about 11.00 pm on May 17, 2016. While Rev. H.S. Upashak Ji, General Secretary of the Mission in UK made the announcement, Rev. JRD ‘Satyarthi’ Ji presented the White Scarf (Dupatta), the symbol of Satguru’s spiritual powers to her, and Holy Sister Niranjan Ji welcomed her with a garland of flowers in the presence of thousands of devotees who had assembled for Baba Ji’s Antim Darshan. Devotees hailed Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji with loud acclamation (Jai Ghosh). Blessing the devotees, Satguru Mata Ji said:
“Baba Ji was love personified. He forgave everybody’s faults and put them aside with love. Whatever the matter, he had only love to bestow. That is why we all loved him too. And Baba Ji also wanted that we should all have tremendous love for each other. So, let us all join hands and make a pledge to move forward with love for all and take this Mission further.”
On May 18, a special congregation was held in Samagam Ground No. 2, Burari Road in the evening to pay tributes to and take inspiration from the life and teachings of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj. The occasion became a rare divine coincidence. While speakers tried to recall the countless steps Baba Ji took to take the message of love, compassion, tolerance and oneness across the world and expressed their feelings of pain and sorrow on his sudden disappearance in physical form, they also welcomed his formless entity manifested in Pujya Mata Savinder Ji. Everybody hailed Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji as Baba Ji’s next incarnation as Spiritual Head of the Mission.
Addressing the vast gathering, Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji said: “You all come together, work shoulder to shoulder and help me to raise the Mission and see it where Baba Ji wanted to see it.” It was certainly a brief but clear outline of her agenda for the Mission as also the mankind for the time to come.
