Community Services | Free Eye Camp
Sant Nirankari Mission is in the forefront of organizing free Eye Camps on regular basis since 1988 in cooperation with Government hospitals. Doctors and Eye Specialists screen the patients and those selected for cataract operations are sent to the Government hospitals for the operations.
Lens are provided in all cases as well as free post operation medicines. Spectacles are also given to the patients on subsidised rates and free of cost to persons below poverty line. These camps are in great demand particularly in the rural areas and remote villages of the country.
Free Medical Health Checkup Camps
During 2007-08 alone 24 Free Eye check up camps were organized at various places and 6,782 patients were screened out of which 915 operations were carried out.
In addition, lens were fitted in 1,728 cases and 2,175 individuals were given spectacles also. Visualising their popularity, the Mission has planned more number of camps in the current year.
