On Sunday, February 23, 2014 Guru Pooja Divas was celebrated with great enthusiasm. To highlight Oneness and selfless service this Sewadal rally was organized. In this Sewadal rally almost all the volunteers of Toronto participated in spite of bad weather. In the beginning of the rally Rev. Pardumen Singh Ji was brought upon the stage and Adhikari Parnam was done in his honor.

The volunteers sang the Sewa Dal Prayer, performed P.T. exercises, and then sang the Marching song and Guru Puja Geet. In the end Rev Pardumen Singh Ji blessed the volunteers and said that like every player is important in a team, similarly it is important with the Sewa as well. Sewa is worthwhile only when it is done with team spirit. Sewa done in discipline and with coordination brings fruits. We see that Sewa Dal volunteers are performing their domestic duties and at the same time they are doing a lot for the community.

Guru Puja Diwas as also the 60th Birthday of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj was celebrated in Dubai on Friday, February 28, 2014. Saints from all over UAE (Abu Dhabi, Alain, Fujeirah, Ras al Khaimah, Ajman and Sharjah) participated.

The day started with a Sewa Dal Rally where men and women in uniform rededicated themselves to service of humanity. They presented P.T. Parade and games as also the folk dance Bhangra to express their joy on Baba Ji’s Birthday.

In his discourse at the Rally, Rev Gurnam Singh Ji called upon the entire Sewa Dal to perform various duties selflessly and with the spirit of love, compassion, humility and tolerance and thus continue to earn the blessings of Satguru and fellow devotes. He said that we should be grateful to Satguru whenever we are given some Sewa, a chance to serve the Mission or the society. He appreciated the discipline, cooperation and coordination among Sewa Dal volunteers.

This was followed by a congregation with a gathering of almost 1500 saints. It was marked by speeches and songs in various language including Hindi, English, Punjabi, Sindhi, Marathi and Gujrati. Rev Gurnam Singh Ji blessed the congregation from holy chair.

Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive

No doubt, the Sant Nirankari Mission is making every possible effort to strengthen the spiritual aspect of human life, it is paying equal attention to other aspects also. Accordingly, the Mission conducts a tree plantation and cleanliness drive in the country and abroad every year. The Mission is keen that the world should have a pollution-free environment and ecological balance so that man can breathe and live comfortably. We wish a green world with prosperous life for everyone.

The drive was launched by the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation to celebrate the 60th Birthday of His Holiness. All the branches of the Mission across the world participated.

The objectives was to draw the attention of the public towards anti-pollution measures as also the message of selfless service of humanity as a means to express our devotion to God, as preached by the Mission.

In Delhi, the devotees planted about 500 plants in the green belt in Sector 19, Dwarka. Holy Sister Bindiya Chhabra Ji planted the first tree while Rev C.L. Gulati Ji, Secretary Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, the local Mukhi Rev Ved Batra Ji and other saints also followed.

For cleanliness, the devotees concentrated on New Delhi Railway Station. About 1500 volunteers of the Sant Nirankari Sewa Dal in uniform and other devotees worked for about 4 hours and cleaned the whole area. Briefing Media-persons here Holy Sister Bindiya Chhabra Ji and Rev C.L. Gulati Ji said that this campaign is conducted by the Foundation every year on February 23 to celebrate the Birthday of His Holiness. For devotees it has already become a part devotion. As taught by Satguru, they consider service to humanity as devotion to God.

Melbourne Branch of Sant Nirankari Mission in Australia celebrated the 60th Birthday of His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj on February 23, 2014 as 'Guru Puja Diwas' with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event was marked by various activities like games, songs, dances, speeches, etc. It was graced by the presence of many distinguished guests including Hon. Bruce Atkinson MLC, President of the Legislative Council – Victoria, Ms Manika Jain from Consulate General of India – Melbourne, Cr Darren Pearce, Mayor of Knox, Nick Wakeling MP, Cr Joe Cossari from City of Knox.

The event commenced with PT Parade by Sewa Dal volunteers. Various games were organised for male and female volunteers and children to convey the message of accomplishing given tasks with discipline, coordination and team spirit. Mrs Veenu Rattan Female Volunteers Co-ordinator highlighted the Mission’s contribution in many community welfare activities in Australia and also the Mission’s efforts in spreading the message of peace, humanity, compassion and oneness globally.

Cr Darren Pearce said that the Sant Nirankari Mission believes in responsible living in society and achieving noble goals beyond its own community. Mr Nick Wakeling expressed his joy for being part of the celebrations. He emphasized on the Mission’s great partnership with Rowville and Knox Council. He also congratulated the Mission for being recognised as the biggest organisation for blood donation in the State of Victoria.

Hon Bruce Atkinson also praised the Mission for its work. He said that it’s very easy to give advice to others but it’s difficult to act. He further added that the Mission is setting an example for others by participating in Blood Donation, Clean up Australia drive. Cr Joe Cossari appreciated the efforts of the Mission in celebrating the Birthday of His Holiness in a distinct style. He congratulated the Mission for playing important role in promoting the importance of inity in multicultural diversity in the community. Ms Manika Jain praised the efforts of the Mission in maintaining the old teachings of Vedantic era and she congratulated that Mission is working hard to spread the message of love, peace, harmony and oneness. She was impressed with the participation of youth in these activities.

Rev Indar Jit Branch Incharge blessed the audience from holy chair and emphasized the importance of God-Knowledge in life. He praised the importance of Satguru and application of his teachings in our daily lives. He said that one who prays and gives importance to Satguru, enjoys blissful life. He added that it is not enough to have God-knowledge, it’s more important to apply it in life.

A Pracharak Training Camp was organized in Jammu on February 28, 2014. The camp was presided over by Rev Joginder Kaur Ji Member Incharge Prachar Training and Seminars. Other faculty members included Rev Naranjan Singh Ji IAS (Retd) Chandigarh, Rev Amarjit Singh Ji, Zonal Incharge Patiala and Rev S.L. Garg Ji, Manager & Coordinator, Prachar Vibhag, Delhi. Rev Ajit Singh Ji, Zonal Incharge, Jammu also participated.

About 375 saints including Sanyojaks/ Mukhis, Pracharaks, Gyan Pracharaks, Sewa Dal Adhikaris, saints Incharge of Bal Sangats and EMS and active youths of all the 27 branches of the Zone participated.

During this one-day camp, the participants were familiarized with the basic principles of the Mission, Prachar and Prabandh Vyavastha, youth programmes, guidelines for Sangat, history of the Mission and message of His Holiness.
