Rev A.S. Sandhu, Zonal Incharge, Pathankot Passes Away

Rev A.S. Sandhu, Zonal Incharge, Pathankot (Punjab) relinquished his physical form and merged into Nirankar at 9:00 am on March 21, 2019. The end came suddenly at his residence in Batala. He was 86.

The cremation took place in Batala at 4:00 pm the same day. The body was placed in a flower-bedecked open vehicle and taken on its last journey with full respect and devotion. While Sewadal men and women led the procession, all the Mukhis, Pracharaks and other senior members of the branches in Pathankot and Hoshiarpur districts followed them immediately before the vehicle.

Rev A.S. Sandhu was born on February 9, 1933 in Village Asal Antar, District Lahore (now Amritsar), in the family of Shri Thakar Singh Sandhu and Smt. Partap Kaur. He received his primary education at village Markhai in district Ferozepur while staying with the family of his maternal grandfather. Thereafter he joined the family of his maternal uncle Dr. Kartar Singh who was posted as Medical Officer at Kotkapura, District Faridkot. He studied up to Matriculation here. He did his BA from Faridkot since Dr. Kartar Singh had been posted there on transfer.

Rev A.S. Sandhu joined Punjab Electricity Department in 1957 and was posted at Sangrur. He was transferred to Muktsar in 1962 and from there to Bhatinda in 1966, from where he came to Batala during 1970 while he was working as Internal Auditor in the Punjab State Electricity Board. He refused his promotion since there was enough time for Prachar on this post here itself. He served on this post till his retirement in 1991.

In 1962, Rev A.S. Sandhu went from Muktsar to Ludhiana in connection with a departmental examination. Here he came into contact with Rev Naranjan Singh Ji IAS who was at that time studying in M.A. there. Rev Naranjan Singh Ji took him to Satsang where Rev A.S. Sandhu received Brahm Gyan from Dr. Attar Singh Ji of Ludhiana. Rev Sandhu understood Brahm Gyan spontaneously and offered himself to preach the message further. Dr. Attar Singh Ji and Rev Naranjan Singh Ji guided him for the same.

Rev A.S. Sandhu was so enthusiastic that within one week he got Gyani Joginder Singh Ji and a colleague enlightened with Brahm Gyan and started Satsang in Muktsar at his own rented residence. After some time he invited Rev Naranjan Singh Ji to Muktsar to address a congregation. His discourse proved so effective that about 50 people received Brahm Gyan. Subsequently also Rev Sandhu continued to inspire God-loving people to receive Brahm Gyan and the Sangat expanded gradually.

With initiative from Rev A.S. Sandhu, leading Pracharaks of the Mission including Bau Mahadev Singh Ji, Bhapa Ramchand Ji of Kapurthala, Bhai Sahib Harnam Singh Ji of Ludhiana and Jagatmata Ji visited Muktsar. In 1964 Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji visited Muktsar and addressed a huge Samagam there.

In 1967, Rev A.S. Sandhu and Gyani Joginder Singh Ji were blessed with Satguru's permission to award Brahm Gyan to the seekers of Truth. With this, he spread this Voice of Truth with all the greater enthusiasm, faith and confidence.

When Rev A.S. Sandhu retired from Government service in 1991, Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj blessed him with the responsibilities of Zonal Incharge Batala consisting of the districts of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Nawan Shahr, Taran Taran and Pathankot. During the reorganization of various zones in Punjab in 2016, he was left with the responsibility of Pathankot and Hoshiarpur districts which he continued to perform till his last breath.
