SNCF Conducts Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive at 8 Hill Stations on World Environment Day

The Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation (SNCF) organised a massive Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive across the country as a mark of its participation in World Environment Day on June 5, 2017. In view of peak tourist season, the stations concentrated on included: Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Nainital in Uttarakhand; Shimla, Manali and Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh; Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra; and Gangtok in Sikkim.

Besides tree plantation and cleanliness, awareness about keeping the environment free from pollution was created through a human chain, street-plays (Nukkad-Natak) and a special exhibition.

Mussoorie:

In Mussoorie, thousands of volunteers of the Foundation, members of the Sant Nirankari Sewadal and other devotees including several participants from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and other areas, assembled at Garhwal Terrace at Mall Road at 8.00 am for Prayer and the Oath Ceremony. While Holy Sister Bindiya Chhabra Ji, Executive President of the Foundation presided, Shri Manmohan Singh Chairman of the Mussoorie Municipal Corporation was the Chief Guest. A former Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Jot Singh also participated in the function.

Addressing the participants, Shri Manmohan Singh Mall said that saving trees means saving of life. We can know the value of oxygen provided free to the mankind from the cost we to pay for a small amount of oxygen to save a dying patient. He said that the campaign to plant and save trees should, therefore, not be confined to World Environment Day, it should be adopted as an all time commitment by every citizen of the world.

Shri Mall said that Mussoorie has been known as the ‘Queen of Hills’ and Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation has contributed massively not only to preserve this beauty but in other social activities also. He appreciated the contribution being made by devotees of the Mission in health services round the year and in traffic control during the tourist season.

Shri Mall said that Mussoorie was always close to the heart of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and the same love and care is being bestowed upon the citizens of Mussoorie by Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj today.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Jot Singh Ji said that the maintenance of ecological balance is the need of the entire mankind toady. Global warming is threatening the Ozone which may be destroy the earth itself. He, therefore, urged every citizen to come forward and contribute to tree plantation and cleanliness at least in their own surroundings.

Shri Jot Singh Ji appreciated the initiative being taken and contribution made by the Foundation not only in Mussoorie but elsewhere also. He thanked Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj for blessing and inspiring devotees to participate in this most important anti-pollution campaign.

The programme concluded with an oath by every participant to ensure cleanliness of their surroundings and cause no damage by polluting the environment. This was followed by a human chain along the busy Mall Road. About 2000 devotees and school children participated in this over one kilometre long human chain. They carried placard with inspiring slogans to avoid pollution and adopt cleanliness as a way of normal life.

Thereafter all the participants cleaned the Mall Road and removed the garbage.

The special exhibition put up by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation at Jhulaghar, Mall Road was inaugurated by Her Holiness Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj. It depicted various activities of Foundation and sought to inspire every citizen to ensure a pollution-free environment.

Her Holiness also planted a tree near Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan at Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Marg and thus inaugurated the campaign that continued upto 2.00 pm.

Earlier, on June 3, 2017, Shri Kirpa Sagar, Member Incharge Press and Publicity Department, Sant Nirankari Mandal from Delhi addressed a Press Conference where representatives of almost all the local Media including News Channels were present. He explained that service to mankind here is an important means to express our devotion to God. Satguru blesses us with the knowledge of the Almighty God in His true form. We realize that He is the single Supreme Entity who’s worshipped with different names in different religious. Instantly, therefore, we understand that the entire humanity is a single family of the some Supreme Father. This brings us close to every religion, to every citizen of the world.

Shri Kirpa Sagar explained that it is with this spirit that under the benign guidance of Satguru we are always ready to serve humanity and cooperate with any institution or organization if the programme is aimed at the welfare of all. Today, also thousands of the devotees are participating in this tree plantation and cleanliness drive with the same spirit under the auspices of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation. Then he explained the various activities of the Foundation in detail, specially their contribution in ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and the Garbage Management Programme’ launched by Shri Narendra Modi Ji the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
