Zonal Level Mahila Samagam held in Port Blair

 

The Zonal-level Mahila Samagam of Andaman and Nicobar Islands took place at Port Blair on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Attended by hundreds of delegates from various branches of the zone and the local social workers and other God-loving women, the Samagam was presided over by Smt. Sumitra Ji.

The Samagam was marked by devotional songs, speeches, a short play and Qawali based on the principles of the Mission. The speakers used Hindi, English, Bhojpuri, Bengali and Punjabi languages.

Addressing the gathering, Smt. Sumitra Ji said that by keeping a balance between the family and Satsang, Rev Rajmata Ji presented a beautiful example which every woman should follow. She quoted several examples from the life and teachings of Rajmata Ji.

The Chairperson of the Port Blair Municipal Council Smt. Sheela Singh said that she was really impressed by the Samagam, particularly the spiritual guidance being provided by Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj here. She said that she was happy to note that the Mission was emphasizing on mass weddings and keeping the marriage ceremony simple by avoiding dowry etc. She recalled the selfless services rendered by the devotees of the Mission following Tsunami in 2004.

Another guest of the day Smt. Roopa Ray, wife of Shri Vishnupad Ray M.P. said that it was very essential to seek the blessings of Satguru to make life meaningful. Even Lord Rama and Lord Krishna followed this noble principle. She said that women have their own inner strength that they must realise. She is the first Guru of the human being. If the mother is well educated, she can act as a guide for every other member in the family and keep the environment pleasant.

Smt. Kuldeep Roy, a social worker also address the Samagam and reminded the participants of their responsibilities towards the family and the society. They must raise their children to become responsible citizens of the country.
