Mukti Parv: August 15, 2018

The Sant Nirankari Mission celebrated Mukti Parv Samagam both in India and abroad. While all the branches in India held special congregations on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, the branches abroad were allowed to celebrate the day on Friday, August 17 and Sunday, August 19 as per their convenience.

The main Samagam was held in Samagam Ground No.8, Burari Road, Delhi in the benign presence of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj. Thousands of devotees came from Delhi, Greater Delhi and several other parts of the country. Several saints from abroad were also present.

Addressing the gathering Satguru Mata Ji stated:

“On this day, today we remember and bow to Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji and a host of devotees who followed him. Let us pray to Nirankar for the qualities He gave to those devotees. Satguru liked the same being adopted in their conduct.

As we just now saw in the documentary, initially this day was celebrated as Shahenshah Ji and Jagatmata Ji day. But when Pradhan Labh Singh Ji also relinquished his physical form (on this day), the day was named as Mukti Parv. Satguru (Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji) at that time did not mind that the day was dedicated to his holy parents. He named it as ‘Mukti Parv’ and included all the devotees as well.

Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and Mata Savinder Hardev Ji wanted that we should bring back the times of Shahenshah Ji. So, how to achieve it? This can happen only when we adopt the qualities of those times like complete submission and to obey without any ‘Ifs’ and ‘Buts’ as also to give priority to others. Symbolically, we offer the first morsel to someone while taking Langar. This means we are giving priority to others. We also bow at the holy feet of each other, surrendering our ego.

There is an example of a boat. Suppose we are sailing in water and there is a strong wind. We can’t control the wind but we can definitely adjust the sails of the boat to move in the right direction. Similarly, how many of us might have lived physically during the times of Shahenshah Ji? Certainly, not all. So, now if we wish to bring those times back, we shall have only to surrender selflessly. Only then can we implement today in our age all that prevailed during those times. Let us totally surrender like devotees of those times.

During the previous congregation only, we paid tributes to Satguru Mata Savinder Ji and took inspiration from her life. In continuation of the same, I pray for every devotee to spend each second of his or her life as the devotees of those times and this is what Baba Ji and Mata Ji also desired. Notwithstanding the winds, let us move forward in the same direction as shown by them.”
