The funeral ceremony took place on Friday, December 23, 2016 in the benign presence of Her Holiness Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj. Prior to that the body was placed in the compound of Sain Dass School from 9:00 am to 11:30 am to enable devotees to have Antim Darshan and pay respects to Nand Bua Ji. Several members of the Central Planning and Advisory Board, Executive Committee of the Sant Nirankari Mandal, Central Sewadal Adhikaris, Zonal Incharges, Sanyojaks, representatives of political parties and social organizations and relatives of the family placed wreaths on the body before the last journey started.

On Saturday, December 24, 2016, a special congregation was held in the divine presence of Her Holiness Satguru Mata Ji at the vast compound of the new Satsang Bhawan at Kapurthala Road to pay tributes and take inspiration from the life of Nand Bua Ji. Addressing the huge gathering, Her Holiness said:

“Saints, we are seeking inspiration from the life of Nand Bua Ji. Such lives are always a source of inspiration and they continue to provide inspiration. As said – Those whose deeds are alive can never die. No doubt she was Baba Ji’s Bua (Father’s sister), but she never gave priority to this relation, she always gave preference to her devotion to Satguru and the spirit of discipline as a devotee. She had complete faith in Satguru as well as Nirankar, which she expressed through her poems and speeches. And her words were not mere words to listen, she acted upon the same. She lived a normal, tension-free life which had no likes and dislikes. Everyone who met her anywhere, anytime, he or she found her always smiling.

I got many opportunities to meet her, to sit with her. Her words always sought to strengthen our faith in Satguru as well as Nirankar. She never had any other subject to discuss.

There’s a saying that ‘what the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the world calls it a butterfly.’ Saints know that life and death are related to body, while the soul is united with God here as well as hereafter. Whosoever is born, has to die, whosoever comes, has to go.

Saints, let us pray so that we are able to live life as cherished by Baba Ji – full of love, humility, devotion, complete faith in God and hued in the colour of devotion. Let us also spend our life based on these values till the last breath of life as did Nand Bua Ji.”
