Houston Food Bank Service

February 20, 2016

It is well known said, ‘The more a man takes the needs of others on his own heart, the more he must take his own heart to God’’. Volunteers do have an enormous impact on well-being of community and we need to think of all these ways where volunteers can make a difference in day-to-day life. With the blessings of His Holiness, Hardev singhji Maharajji, Sant Nirankari Mission Houston Texas celebrated volunteer services for Houston Food Bank. Houston Food Bank is nation’s largest non-profit organization founded in 1982 in Houston by Joan & Stanford Alexander to provide food to the hungry people. This charity network includes servicing churches, community food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, nutritional sites for children and more. Every day 53000 hungry people are fed in Houston.

It is always pleasure for young saints to do these kind of services. Almost 30 saints offered their services in Houston Food Bank which helps homeless and poor people in the community. Saints were very enthusiastic to render their services to the community. These services develops kindness and compassion to make difference in our lives. Saints find their true happiness and freedom in the guidance of True Master. This noble cause brings the most valuable skills which comprises of compassion, an open mind, a willingness to do whatever is needed, and a positive attitude. Our children participated with full enthusiasm and were delighted to participate in the community services. When children know their work is helping someone, they show increased rates of self-esteem.

Our In charge Rev Bhalaji thanked everyone for   putting efforts. We seek blessings of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singhji for more and more volunteer work which leads to learning process to the sublime path. May Nirankar bless everyone .
