Guru Puja Divas—2016 (Houston, Texas)

 Our Spiritual master is our life and soul and the celebration of Guru Pooja Divas is an ecstasy knows no bounds. Every year birthday of “Satguru Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj” is celebrated as Guru Puja Diwas on 23rd February, all over the world. With the blessings of His Holiness, the Houston Texas family of saints celebrated Guru Pooja at India House. Missionaries mark this day as a day of service and devotees participate in various community services. The auspicious birthday and Guru Puja Diwas celebration started with community service at Houston Food Bank during February 20,, 2015. Almost 30 saints offered their services in Houston Food Bank which helps homeless and poor people in the community. Saints were very enthusiastic to render their services to the community. These services develops kindness and compassion to make difference in our lives. Saints find their true happiness and freedom in the guidance of True Master.

With the Wisdom of His Holiness, we become spiritually grounded. Children and Youth showed their gratitude by participating in Essay writing contest in the morning of this auspicious day. The topic was,’ Service to Humanity’. Children were very happy and expressed their thankfulness towards their master in writing. These children put their heart and mind in this small act of love towards their Master and gained blessings.

 Sewadal Rally has a  special significance as a part of Gurupooja Divas. This year it was held on February 28, 2016on 26th at 11PM to 12.00PM, members of Sewadal took active part along with their  Adhikari and showed motivation for sewa. Satguru Prathna, Pared Geet and Gurupooja Geet were sung together at this moment. While celebrating the day, it makes us feel deeply connected with our Lord Master and the joy and bliss soaks us in an ocean of gratitude. It was an impressive Rally which taught us the importance of discipline in our lives.

In this focused moment there was a profound sense of joy and peace.

This special congregation had many blessings. The documentary film of blissful moments by His holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj was shown at some places.

                        Rev Raj Bhala, the local in charge of Sant Nirankari Mission, thanked everyone for their efforts and conveyed the message of love. He said, ‘’spirituality is a learning process and with the grace of His holiness, we are experiencing this joy.” On this beautiful day, our sincere wish and prayer is that all of us really put our effort into experiencing this joy of sewa (selfless service).  Let’s wear the costume of humility so that we can receive the love and cooperation of others.
