Houston Food Bank Service, 2014

To celebrate the Birth Day of The Lord Master Baba Hardev Singhji Maharaj, the saints attending the regular weekly spiritual congregations wanted to do some selfless service to the deserving and needy folks. The opportunity was provided by the Houston Food Bank where with the blessings of His Holiness, 33 saints of the SNM Houston branch performed volunteer service at the Houston Food Bank on February 22, 2014. Saints from ages 8 to 80+ reached the HFB at 12:30 p.m. and performed service from 1-4p.m. The task was to repack rice from 2,000 pound containers into two pound family size bags. Saints thanked the Almighty Nirankar for blessing them with the opportunity to perform selfless service, and prayed for providing such opportunities in the future too. The Houston Food Bank showed their appreciation and accepted the humble gesture of the volunteers.

From Houston Food Bank:
Dear Volunteers, Thank you for sharing your time and talents volunteering with Houston Food Bank on 02/22/2014. We appreciate you choosing to spend a few hours helping us feed our hungry neighbors. We hope you left with a greater understanding of not only what the food bank does, but also how you directly help neighbors at risk of hunger across 18 counties.

Volunteers like you help us feed 137,000 hungry neighbors each week in Southeast Texas.

1 in 5 kids, and 1 in 8 hungry neighbors, currently face hunger. We hope you'll want to continue to help us change that. Tell your friends about our mission. Thank you again for joining us in the fight against hunger. What you do makes a difference and we appreciate your time and support.
Yours Friends at Houston Food Bank
