Blood Donation April 21, 2013

Blood donation is the greatest service to humanity since it helps to save lives. Blood donation movement of Sant Nirankari Mission is, therefore, appreciated by one and all. The Houston Branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission set up a Blood Drive on 21st April at India House This special event was set up this month to pay homage to our Satguru Baba Gurbachan Singhji Maharaj for his teachings, sacrifices, and ultimately laying out his life for humanity. People in the community were invited by all the volunteers personally and by advertisements. The members of Telgu Church of Houston also participated in this noble cause.

The Sant Nirankari Mission Sewadal members along with representatives of the MD Anderson Blood Center gathered at their Blood donation Van at India House early in the morning to setup the blood drive 11-00 AM to 2-00 PM. People from different age groups came forward with great zeal to donate blood. Out of 22 registered volunteers, 18 eligible people could donate blood. Rev. Raj Bhala thanked all the saints, community, and MD Anderson for their contribution towards humanity.

Thanks from MD Anderson Blood Bank:

Deferred: 4
Whole Blood: 18
TOTAL UNITS: 18

The deferral rate was low so you did a good job of signing up eligible donors. I appreciate your hard work and dedication on behalf of the cancer patients here at MD Anderson. You and your group have made a big difference in the lives of many people by the generosity and selflessness of giving blood. Thank you so much.

I hope all went well. Please call when you are ready to set up another drive.
