Negativity!

A man once planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it.

He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, "How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns? Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom... it died.

So it is with many of us. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us, at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.

We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential.

Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is, to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them.

This is one of the characteristic of love... to look at a person, know their true faults and accepting that person into your life... all the while recognizing the nobility in their soul. Help others to realize they can overcome their faults. If we show them the "rose" within themselves, they will conquer their thorns. Only then will they blossom many times over.

I would like to share some thoughts on Negativity that are written by Deepak Chopra from the book "Fire in the Heart".

Today, avoid the temptation to be negative. It is negative to criticize, to blame somebody else, to demand perfection, to treat someone as inferior or not your kind of person.

How many times have you heard somebody justify these behaviors?

Perform an experiment for one day. See how you feel after not being critical, not blaming anyone, not seeing anybody else as inferior. You will find a lot of surprises, such as how often people are negative without thinking they are, and how good it feels to go one day without putting a single person down in any way.

"All negativity is based on the word NO. When you say no, you keep life from flowing where it wants to go. Your NO blocks the flow."

Some people might ask – Sometimes you have to say no.

"We are not talking about saying NO when you see something wrong,"

If a baby gets too close to the fire, then NO is a way to protect it from harm. But for every time that kind situation comes up, people say a hundred noes that could be yeses. There is a deeper mystery here than they realize.

'Life is always positive. Its power is used to create growth. So if you say yes, you harness the power of growth, while saying no makes things shrink away and stop growing."

Someone asked, "I still do not see how you can always say yes."

"Words are secondary," was the reply. It comes down to allowing. Either you allow life to unfold or you do not.

When you try to force anyone to do something, when you manipulate or control, beg or whine, those are the signs that you do not trust life to unfold. You want to, step in your own.

Anytime you are fighting for own self, some kind of negativity is at work. Yet your soul would never leave you alone; it always offers the support of life with all its infinite power.

"Learning to allow takes time. Be on the alert when you are tempted to say NO. Ask yourself, 'Can this situation work out if I just allow?' The more you allow spirit to solve problems, the closer you will come to harnessing the power that lies at the very heart of life."
