RADIO RUHANIYAT. 03-08-2014: Episode 344
GRATITUDE: Seven Years of Radio Ruhaniyat! -The Entangled Whale!
We have so much to thank for and so little time to express it all! We often tend
to take things for granted and forget that our existence is worth
appreciateince. An Attitude of Gratitude is what keeps the mind level-headed!
A female humpback whale had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and
lines. She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to
struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped
around her body, her tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth.
A fisherman spotted her just east of the Faralon Islands (outside the Golden
Gate) and radioed for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and
determined that she was so badly off, the only way to save her was to dive in
and untangle her… a very dangerous proposition.
One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.
They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.
When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles.
She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, nudged them, and
pushed gently, thanking them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful
experience of their lives.
The
guy who cut the rope out of her mouth, says her eye was following him the whole
time,
and he will never be the same.
May you be so fortunate …
To be surrounded by people who will help you get untangled from the things that
are binding you.
And, may you always know the joy of
giving and receiving gratitude.
It’s
up to you to keep improving your motivation; and your ability to give gratitude.

And as we talk about gratitude, Radio Ruhaniyat would like to thank the Sangeet
Mala team and WHSR 980 AM because this week marks the 7th Anniversary
of Radio Ruhaniyat: Seven years of inspirational programming! We are immensely
grateful to Mr. Bhagwan Singh, Mala and the team for their continued cooperation
for all these years. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity. Although
this weekly segment was meant to inspire the listeners, but the one person who
learnt a whole lot from this experience is: ME! I have learnt and transformed
from all the inspirational stories and as I have strived to write my amateur
scripts, I have experienced spiritual growth within myself. It has been a life
changing experience!
Every radio episode is dedicated to the loving memory of Late Rev. Prof. J. S.
Puri, who was the President, Sant Nirankari Mission, USA and the inspiration
behind this 5-10 minute weekly segment. Radio Ruhaniyat is inspired from the
teachings of the Sant Nirankari Mission: Universal Brotherhood. The weekly
scripts are emailed and posted on our Facebook page by Shivani Singh: who had
joined our team last year.
Our listeners have given us ongoing encouragement; which has kept us motivated
for continued broadcasts. You are the reason, this segment is still going and we
thank you for your continued support. We thank those listeners who tell us that
they leave their desk at work and go into their cars for a short break when it
time for Radio Ruhaniyat. We thank those who listen live on the web and send
their response from across the globe, be it in the United States, Canada,
England or India. We are grateful to all those who have been contributing with
their stories, inputs and improvements for Ruhaniyat!
From our team to all our listeners: our heart-felt gratitude for seven years of
your continued support!
