Rev. David Lashar Ji's visit to Denver, Colorado - Apr 2016

With the blessings of HH Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Saints of Denver, CO experienced yet another wave of spiritual bliss, when saints from Toronto, Canada – Rev. David Lashar ji and family visited Colorado.

Despite being on a business visit, Rev. David ji presided 3 congregations over a 4-day period. Rev. David ji’s discourses were a great source of inspiration for all ages. He shared his personal experiences, which transformed his life.

During the mid week satsang in Aurora on Thursday, March 31st, Rev. David ji mentioned about one such experience, when in a very brief conversation with HH, Rev. David ji said – “I do not feel the same, I feel disconnected”. To that Babaji replied - “Its just a phase. Remain connected to Satsang though”. He followed the directions of Satguru that lead him to pass various phases of life with great ease and made sure that he stayed on the right path.

On Saturday, during a special satsang in Highlands Ranch, while giving blessings to a newly wed couple and also another family celebrating baby shower, David ji shared the teachings of Satguru Babji that “Love is the basis” – even when realizing Nirankar. He reiterated the message of oneness also as being one with the formless.

He mentioned -
Iko padhiya, Iko dhithiya,
Phir kaun kahe tu do hai
Hasti chhad ke, vekh Bulleshah
Jeda naam jape tu oh hai..

One [formless] is read and realized as One.
Who says You are two,
Lose your identity and watch Bulleshah,
You are the one you are worshiping.

At the same time he reminded that despite being one with the formless, humbleness is the quality of a true saint. He shared the example of a donkey that was so proud of himself, when everybody bowed to him, while he was carrying the statue of God to temple. Only to realize at the end that it was the statue being worshipped, not him. Similarly saints always realize that every honor a saint receives is nothing but Nirankar’s grace.

He also mentioned gratitude being a virtue of a saint. He shared an example of a student that goes to a monk to learn. When the student, after having to be silent for 10 years, was asked to speak 2 words, he said – ‘Bed Hard!’. When this was repeated in another 10 years, he said – ‘Food bad’. In yet another 10 years when he got the opportunity he said – ‘I quit!’. Unlike that, a true saint always lives with an attitude of gratitude.

Rev. Pravjyot ji shared her experience with a saint that had the opportunity to serve Baba Avtar Singh Ji, Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji and the Satguru of the time, Baba Hardev Singh ji. She said the very clear advice by that saint was to stay connected with the Satguru’s lotus feet.

On Sunday, Rev. David ji continued describing the life of a true gursikh. He mentioned that a devotee has complete faith in his master. David ji reminded Shehenshah Baba Avtar Singh ji’s vichaar of approaching every saint as you should approach Satguru.

He concluded his discourse with what he begun with – Satguru’s message of Love. Man jaavan galti pyaar di khatir, Bhaaven beshak bekasoor hovan!

Rev. David ji said – “You are not just a title, but Satguru has actually made you this – A Saint!” We all seek blessings from Satguru to continue giving us all the opportunity to learn from such noble saints and also to give us strength to live by His teachings.
