NARRATOR: Welcome everyone! It’s a beautiful day! Today we are going to present a small skit titled “GO GREEN with LIFE”. This is an attempt to put forward some common problems we face in the material world and then linking them with our spiritual world plus few tips to overcome them. Let’s start the first scene and see what’s happening in that train…

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 1 - A couple is travelling in a train. Suddenly a passenger jumps in with his luggage. Even after train starts, he keeps holding the luggage on his head.  Couple is surprised…

Wife: Why train has stopped?

Husband : It’s a station….couple more to go before we reach destination.

Wife: oh…okay. Look at that passenger who just jumped in.

Husband : Hey… what are you doing? Why are you still standing with the luggage on your head? It’s so funny.

Passenger : It’s “my” luggage… I have to hold it.

Husband : Right… but since train is moving you can just keep it down and wait till you reach destination. It’s not going to run away and you don’t have to stress yourself unnecessarily. You can get to it whenever you need it anyways.

Passenger: Don’t laugh at me. Look at yourself. You are doing the same thing with your ‘past’ in the journey of life anyways! Have you ever let it go? Aren’t you stressed all the time due to it?  I am not doing anything different!

Couple : Wow… we never thought about that! Thank you for giving such a wonderful insight!

NARRATOR :  This is so true… it was not necessary for the passenger to hold on to his luggage on his head while in transit.

Likewise, we flow through journey of life with so many events, things, challenges and visions. But for some unknown reason we keep holding to our past incidents, grudges, frustrations. It’s like a luggage draining our energies and preventing us from being in the moment! We have to let it go, so that we can see things in clear light and be with the present!

SO KEEP UNNECESSARY LUGGAGE OUT OF YOUR MIND… START THINKING!

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 2 -  A couple in basement looking at things that are stored, messed up and being unused  for a long time.

Wife: Oh my god! How much stuff and mess it is out here in our basement?

Husband :  really? Let me see.

Wife : You just keep looking but you never do anything about it.

Husband :  Well…yes…you know it’s so much to go through… so much important stuff…we need a lot of time to check.

Wife: If you look that way you will never have time. We will have to do little bit at a time and keep it going. Half the things look trash to me and need to go right away.  Let me throw those away in trash bin.

Husband :  Wait… wait... wait…there might be things which we will need later. Let me look first.

Wife: You never needed these things in last 10 years… just sitting here unused. What you want to look?

Husband : I have to really see it. It’s so difficult to throw them without looking. They look so important. Some possess emotional values too!

Wife: Nothing is that much important if you did not find a use in last 10 years and not having any plans to use it in future. It’s just a waste of resources. As far as emotional values are concerned we will see what to save and how long but we must act on this issue.

Husband: I agree.

Wife: Here is a solution. Let’s make 4 piles – keep it/throw it/donate it/recycle it! Then let’s start going through all the items and sort it accordingly. It will take some time since stuff is lying here for years but we will have to do it.

Husband: That sounds like a plan! Let’s get going…

NARRATOR – As you have seen, the clutter in our house basement needs to be organized for better management of available resources and money.

Same way we have to deal with the clutter in our mind. It also needs to be sorted out regularly. Like material stuff needs to be organized, donated, trashed or recycled, we have to deal with our mind clutter. It’s a way to remain being in the present moment with nirankar or divine. Cleanliness is next to godliness. And cleanliness of mind is Godliness.  Unwanted things should not occupy our precious mind space and drain our energies unnecessarily.

SO BE A GOOD PLANNER AND ORGANIZER. START THINKING!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 3 - A couple in backyard…

Wife : What a nice and big backyard we got…

Husband : yeah.. I like these trees, flowers and green grass. But you know, we should do some more work this year to make our backyard more beautiful and functional. A cool place to spend some time during summer as well.

Wife : yeah. We should plant more seeds this time, grow more vegetables as well. We should plant some new flowers and fruit trees. Also we have make the grass lush green. We have to take care of the backyard for sure.

Husband : Unless we do something it will not get better automatically. Plus physical efforts will keep us fit as well.

Wife: I agree. We must plan some activities and few fixes wherever necessary.

Husband : For growing fruit trees we will have to wait for few years to see actual fruits but it’s worth waiting. Kids will love it too.

Wife : Yep… you are so right. We have to do efforts before we can reap the fruits. Let’s make a list of what we need to do and start working on it. It’s so exciting…

NARRATOR: Look at trees around you…Look at the green grass around you. See the beautiful flowers. It’s a wonderful view to have…

Same way look at your mind as a beautiful garden. What are we planting in them? How to make it green and better? Does it need any fixes?

We should plan to grow good thoughts and making efforts to cultivate them all the time to become a better person. We should take out weeds which means bad or ill thoughts and plant some new creative ideas which will help us and all to excel and enjoy beauty of life. We should take care of our mind all the time and radiate positive energies all the time.

SO GO GREEN IN ALL AREAS OF LIFE…START THINKING!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scene 4- A couple looking at trash bins in house.

Wife : See what I got? Another  trash  bins for our kitchen

Husband :  Why another? We already have one

Wife: This one is for recycle. We have to sort out our trash from now on, as not everything is a waste. Like  plastic, paper, boxes, bottles and that can be recycled. This way it doesn’t lie under the ground permanently but gets reused after some processing done by city engineers. This helps save the earth and makes environment clean and green.

Husband : Wow…that’s a easy way to help mother nature. Never thought it’s so simple yet so important.

Wife: So I label this bin as TRASH and other one as RECYCLE. Even kids will have a fun time finding out what is what and making a decision before throwing away anything as a waste.

Husband: very good! It is so easy to actually do it…

NARRATOR : Simple, but such a powerful way of waste management. Everyone can do it and help nature. We must see what we can throw away and what we can save and recycle on a daily basis.

Same way we have to watch our thoughts in mind and identify good and bad thoughts. Some good thoughts are worth putting in action. We should not be lazy. As far as bad or ill thoughts are concerned, even if we are not able to stop them, we can surely ignore them and not focus on them all the time. Some beautiful thoughts can be recycled which means whenever we get a chance to share it with others we should do so…

SO KEEP GOOD THOUGHTS FLOWING… START THINKING!

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NARRATOR : Thank you once again for being with us! Go GREEN with LIFE!
