It is remarkable that these camps have been organized every year since 1987 in the month of April to commemorate the martyrdom of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji the then head of the Sant Nirankari Mission and other devotees of the Mission.  Since 2009, these camps are organized almost round the year starting from Manav Ekta Diwas on April 24. This year, on a single day on April 24, the Mission organized 71 blood donation camps in the country including 9 in Maharashtra. The target this year is to hold more than 400 camps in the country.
