On the 17th December 2011 a Christmas Lunch was arranged for the
community of Sandwell and hosted by Sant Nirankari Mission in Wednesbury. The Mission invited
over 200 local residents and served them Christmas Lunch and
shared in their happiness, offering seasonal greetings.
The event commenced at 12 noon and all the listed attendees
were greeted by Santa Claus who was in attendance on this
occasion together respected Sukhjinder Singh Ji, Upashak Ji and
other local committee members. Numerous dignitaries from the
community joined in this wonderful occasion, including the Lady
Mayor of Sandwell Councillor Ann Shakelton, Khalid Mahmood
(Member of Parliament), Consulate General of India, Guru Raj Rao,
Councillor Mavis Hughes, amongst many others.






Pursuant to the welcome speeches, a local choir called All
Seasons performed a variety of Christmas Carols and really
created a festive atmosphere. The Lady Mayor then shared her
thoughts and commented on how she always felt a very warm
welcome whenever she visited the Nirankari Bhawan and how she
felt a wonderful community spirit. Thereupon, soup starters were
served at the same time as the Nirankari Bal Sangath who danced
for all the community providing entertainment which was really
appreciated. At the conclusion of the entertainment session, a
group called Dance Sansaar gave a short Bhangra performance, to
the delight of one and all. This group have been appointed to
get the West Midlands Community dancing on a project for the
Olympic Games which are to be held in London next year and this
was effectively launched at this event, today. Everyone was
enthralled by the dancing, taking an active part. Lunch was
thereafter served to the sounds of carols playing in the
background and the event was concluded by Santa Claus
distributing gifts and cards from the Mission to all.
