Mid-November marks the start of Interfaith week
celebrations nationally throughout the UK. The emphasis is
wholly to raise awareness and harmony, strengthening good
relationships by encouraging exchange visits between the
multi-faiths and their places of worship.
The Nirankari Mission’s way of life on a daily basis has
always been to bridge the gap between different faiths and
communities and take a very active role whenever and
wherever the need arises; celebrating unity in diversity
with love, peace and understanding, irrespective of social,
cultural or religious backgrounds.
SNM Yorkshire was invited to the Interfaith week
celebrations on 21st Nov 2011 at Methodist Church Bradford.
Along with the local Bhawan Committee members, Mission's
young volunteers were amongst the only youth that joined in
the programme, setting a positive example for the youth of
today’s society by coming to the forefront and getting
involved both practically and spiritually as guided by
Satguru’s vision.
People from the various faith groups joined in the
Interfaith prayers for peace for the whole of mankind. On
behalf of the Nirankari Mission, Rev Mindo Virdee Ji, Rev Kulbinder Saandal Ji
and Sheila Singh Ji shared an English song and prayer, based on
Mission's principles with the gathered assembly.
After the programme, SNM Yorkshire volunteers took the
opportunity to talk to the various faith group representatives
including the guest speaker Rudi Leavor, President of Bradford
Synagogue, about the Mission and its tireless efforts for the
betterment of the community and humanity as a whole as directed
by His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji.
People were very much inspired by Satguru Baba Ji's five
principles and the Mission's philosophy. To further strengthen
these ties and understanding, SNM volunteers invited all in the
coming New Year to the Bhawan. Giving them an opportunity to
come and see for themselves how we can live practically with the
ideals and devotion of Truthful living as practiced by the
Nirankari Mission.
