Bal Samagam held in Mohali

A Bal Samagam was held in Mohali near Chandigarh on June 7, 2011.  Children presented an impressive culture programme covering the message of humanity, peace and prosperity, good deeds, love for the mankind, universal brotherhood and national integration.  They also highlighted the evil effects of the use of intoxicants.  One item dealt with global warming also.

Addressing the Samagam, Dr. B.S. Cheema, Pramukh Mohali Branch and Zonal Incharge, Chandigarh said that it is incumbent on the part of parents and elders to inculcate the fundamental values of love, mercy, compassion and respect in the children, instead of sowing seeds of communal hatred in their tender hearts.  Otherwise, this would amount to turning buds of flowers into thorns, he said.

Dr. Cheema brought out that enlightened children maintain order in the society and are assets to the humanity at large, but the misguided children do not turn out to be the ideal citizens.
