As part of its continuous efforts to spiritually awaken and uplift every member of the society, Sant Nirankari Mandal has been organising monthly congregations for the past four and a half years at Tihar Jail, Delhi. Spiritual songs, speeches and discourses are the media through which the message of spiritual awakening through the grace of Satguru is conveyed to the inmates. Special congregations and health checkup camps are organised for female inmates.

One such congregation was held in Tihar Jail premises on 27th December, 2010. Inmates turned out in heavy numbers to listen to the message of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj. Shri Amrik Singh ji, Member of the Central Planning  and Advisory Board, SNM, said that gurmat is the key to eternal happiness while manmat invites sorrows. He inspired the inmates to seek brahm gyan as it improves life here and hereafter.

Major J D Sharma, also a member of the Central Planning and Advisory Board, SNM, said that God is omnipresent.  We should love everyone; and respect begets respect. Maj. Sharma further said that satguru is merciful. Our prayers to satguru can remove our obstacles and make it a smooth going in every sphere of life.

Singer saints Vinod Sai ji, Vineet ji and Sumit ji kept the inmates tied to their seats in the cold weather through their devotional music. The inmates displayed great devotion in listening to and understanding the message of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj.
