Anti-Malaria Drive and Awareness Camp held in Worli in Mumbai




Sant Nirankari Mission, along with the Brihan Mumbai
Corporation (B.M.C) arranged an Anti Malaria drive and
Malaria awareness camp for the general police at the Worli
police ground in Mumbai on July 2, 2011.
This event was inaugurated by D.C.P Mr. Bhosle. Also
present at the event were A.C.P Mr. Joshi and Sr. inspector
Mr. Gavit.
In his inaugural speech Mr. Bhosle appreciated the social
welfare work undertaken by the Sant Nirankari Charitable
Foundation and also assured to provide all possible help to
the Mission. A.C.P Mr. Joshi also supported the cause and
appreciated the efforts put in by the Sant Nirankari
Charitable Foundation. He also requested that such social
awareness camps may be held at regular intervals. He also
said that Sant Nirankari Mission is creating better and
responsible citizens by undertaking such noble cause and
spreading the Social and Spiritual awareness. Same was
echoed by Sr. Ins. Mr. Gavit.
The total turn out at this camp was over 300 policemen.
Over 100 of them got their blood tested for Malaria. Those
who were found positive in the test were given free medicine
and advice to protect themselves from Malaria.
1. From B.M.C. Malaria staff, Mr. Gawkar and Mr.
Mumbaikar were also present. They shared their knowledge on
the disease and also gave some tips to avoid Malaria from
spreading.
This was a very successful and helpful event. The people
in the local areas also appreciated the efforts put in by
the Sant Nirankari Mission and also requested to arrange
more of such camps. They also thanked Mrs. Prem Oberoi
(Coordinator Social Welfare dept.) for organizing this
event.
