A 2-day Conference of Kshetriya Sanchalaks of Sant
Nirankari Sewa Dal was held in Delhi on April 15 and 16,
2011. Convened by the Sewa Dal Department, the conference
was attended by 80 Kshetriya Sanchalaks from all over the
country. The Member Incharge Sewa Dal Department, Rev.
Harbans Lal Arora presided. Mukhya Sanchalak Sewa Dal, Rev
J.S. Khurana and Up Mukhya Sanchalaks, Rev H.S. Kohli, Rev
Vasdev Singh, Rev O.P. Nirankari and Rev Tejinder Singh also
addressed the conference.

His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj addressed the
concluding session of the conference on April 16 and said:
“The Sant Nirankari Sewa Dal was set up during the times
of Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji. In the beginning Chacha
Partap Singh Ji and other leading Mahapurshas played a
significant role. Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji set up the Sewa Dal
Board to strengthen the organization further. Rev Ram Saran Ji
was the first Chairman of the Board. Among others Bhai Sahib
Ajaib Singh Ji, Brig. Manmohan Singh Ji, Dr. B.S. Nirman and
Shri Khem Raj Chadha held this responsibility and made their own
contribution. At present Shri Harbans Lal Ji is holding this
responsibility.

Even though the Sewa Dal has its own distinct
organizational set up, it is part of the Sadh Sangat as any
other wing. It doesn’t have a separate entity. It functions in
close co-ordination with the Sant Nirankari Mandal as a single
organization.
The Sewa Dal volunteers function with the sense of great
sacrifice. This spirit of selfless service gains all the more
beauty when combined with the spirit of discipline. And they
feel all the more encouraged if the office bearers (Adhikaris)
also work shoulder to shoulder with them. In fact, every member
of the Sewa Dal must function within the parameters of
discipline, with appropriate co-ordination, of course. Every
Member’s duties including those of office bearers at the
Headquarters, Kshetriya Sanchalaks, Sanchalaks and Shikshaks
have already been defined very clearly. No doubt, a beautiful
atmosphere can be ensured if every member functions within the
boundaries defined for him or her.

Training camps for Sewa Dal members at various levels have
been held from time to time, but there is need for such
programmes even today. Every member of the Sewa Dal must be
reminded of his or her duties while functioning in various
fields. Even circulars from Headquarters containing
instructions for volunteers and office bearers may be repeated
with this objective.”
