Sant Nirankari Mission along with the Brihan Mumbai
Corporation (B.M.C) arranged an Anti Malaria drive and
Malaria awareness camp for the fishermen’s colony of Worli
Village on July 21, 2011.
This event was inaugurated by the Chairman of the ‘Nav Patil
Jamat’ Mr. Laxman Patil and Mr. Motilal Patil. The hall in
which the event was organized was provided by Mr. Patil for Nari
Satsang.
In his inaugural speech Mr. Laxman Patil appreciated the
social work undertaken by the Sant Nirankari Charitable
Foundation and also assured to provide all possible help to the
Mission. He praised the Mission for selecting the socially
backward, ignored and poor class of people for this noble
cause. He also said that, these people who depend on fishing
for their livelihood often cannot afford the cost of medical
treatment and are unaware of the symptoms of this life taking
disease, Malaria. Sant Nirankari Mission, by organizing this

patients but also spreading the awareness against Malaria.
Mr. Patil also said that, he has known Sant Nirankari Mission
since very long and he praised the ideology of the Mission to
spread the message of ‘Universal Brotherhood’.
Around 70 people participated in this event and nearly 40
people got their blood tested. Those who were found infected
were given free medicine and were also advised to visit the
nearest B.M.C clinics to collect their blood reports and get the
further course of the medicine if tested positive.
Some volunteers’ of the Sant Nirankari Mission also went
house to house to spread the awareness of Malaria.
Overall, much appreciated efforts were made by Mrs. Prem
Oberoi (Coordinator Social Welfare dept.) and the Nari Satsang
