With the blessing of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Ann Arbor/Detroit branch of Sant Nirankari Mission in USA organized a Blood Donation drive in collaboration with the American Red Cross at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan on Sunday, April 10, 2011.  Every year, per divine guidance of Nirankari Baba Ji and his message: “Blood should flow in veins, not in drains”, Mission organizes blood drives all over the world to mark the Human Unity Day (Manav Ekta Diwas) in memory of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji.

On Sunday, devotees started to gather at the Bhawan as early as 8 am. Around 46 devotees singed up for the blood donation. The mix of saints donating blood spanned all age groups and many saints became blood donors for the very first time. The American Red Cross team was very appreciative of the enthusiasm shown by devotees and was amazed to see the discipline of all the saints.
