The Sant Nirankari Mission UK has been selected by The
National Blood Service for a National Health Service Blood &
Transplant (NHSBT) supporter Loyalty Award at Birmingham
Donor Centre, Birmingham UK on 15th April 2011. This is a
special form of recognition for the support and dedication
that the Sant Nirankari Mission has extended in order to
promote and facilitate blood donation.
The award ceremony was started by Ms Suzanne Walsh who is
the Lead Donor Relation Manager in the Midlands. She said:
“We have many organisations but we cherry picked ten
organisations as your dedication and hard work is
outstanding. We are impressed by your professionalism.”
Suzanne was referring to the Sant Nirankari Mission UK being
one of the handful that were chosen when there were in
excess of 200 organisations for this award from the West
Midlands region. This is particularly poignant as the other
nine organisations who were given this award happened to be
professional organisations and some of the most prestigious
companies in the UK. This ranged from Jaguar to Barclays and
Ford to Sainsbury’s.
The Sant Nirankari Mission was the only spiritual
organisation to be awarded such a high accolade. The former
companies generally pay their employees to perform such
duties but it is the latter, the Sant Nirankari Mission
which has dedicated volunteers to perform selfless service
in the interests of mankind. It is solely with thanks to His
Holiness, Baba ji that the Sant Nirankari Mission UK has
received such recognition because it is his teaching which
has encouraged members of the Mission to become humanly and
to rightly help mankind.
Mr John Wells, National platelets Supply Manager
explained that blood is seen as a gift from the donor to the
patient and it’s critical in saving lives. He graciously
thanked everyone for arranging sessions for vulnerable
people which separate life and death, in some cases. His
Holiness Baba ji also tells us that blood should flow in
veins and not drains and this is another factor which urges
all members of the Mission to take a proactive part in
helping the National blood service. In the UK 96% of people
rely on the other 4% of people to give blood. The Sant
Nirankari Mission UK will be holding a blood donation camp
on Sunday 24th April 2011 in the West Midlands Bhawan.
Mr Wells went on to present this award to members of the
Sant Nirankari Mission UK - Rev Sukhjinder Singh ji, General
Sectary SNM UK and Sanjay Aroraji.
