A blood donation camp was organized by the Sant Nirankari
Mission's Muzaffarnagar Branch in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday,
July 10, 2011, where 311 devotees of the Mission donated
their blood. Of these, 198 units were collected by the
Civil Hospital Blood Bank, Muzaffarnagar and 113 by All
India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi. As a matter of
fact, 380 devotees registered themselves for the donation of
their blood, but the blood collecting teams could not oblige
69 of them for want of pouches, etc.
The camp was inaugurated by the Muzaffarnagar Addl.
District Magistrate Shri Ravindra Godbole, who appreciated
the enthusiasm and the spirit of devotion among donors. He
said that there was no tension and every donor was
participating in the noble cause voluntarily and
cheerfully. He appreciated the contribution of the
Mission's local branch in the social welfare activities in
the town.
Presiding over the congregation on the occasion, Rev Kirpa
Sagar, Member Incharge Press and Publicity, Publications and
Computer and Internet Departments, Sant Nirankari Mandal Delhi
said that even though the first blood donation camp was
organized by the Mission in 1986 in Delhi, a series of such
camps have been held every year since 1987 as a part of the
Manav Ekta Diwas which is observed by the Mission across the
world on April 24. Initially, these camps were held only on the
Manav Ekta Diwas, but the same have been staggered since 1997.
This year the series started with 76 camps all over the country
on April 24. So far, the various branches have already
organized 242 camps, Muzaffarnagar being 243rd.
Rev Kirpa Sagar said that Manav Ekta Diwas seeks to emphasize
the need of human unity, the cause for which Baba Gurbachan
Singh Ji and several devotees of the Mission laid down their
lives. He said that this is sought through the oneness of God.
When we realize that the Supreme Father is one, there is no
difficulty in understanding the oneness of mankind. He said
that this also takes one above all kinds of divisions,
particularly in the name of religion. A human being is human
being first and a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian later. In
fact, one understands that humanity is the true religion because
there is no discrimination or alienation.
The local Pramukh Rev Harish Kumar Ji thanked Shri Ravindra
Godbole, Rev Kirpa Sagar and all the donors.
